Who are better options?

Nagelsmann
Gallardo
Enrique
Potter
Poch until he went to Chelsea. ( Though I didn't want him back
De Zerbi
Spalletti

You could also include in that list but don't have that much experience.

Alonso
Kompany
Carrick
Nagelsmann - agreed
Gallardo - not been an option, plus untested in Europe
Enrique - was on Paratici's list and since he left that wasn't happening
Potter - in terms of Prem experience sure, but failed miserably at Chelsea (debatable if that was him or the owner or both at fault)
Poch until he went to Chelsea. ( Though I didn't want him back - was never an option for the board and for years many fans said it would be stupid to go back (which I find hilarious how many are now wanting him back just because of Chelsea wanting him. Even funnier how it was the fans driving this and every media outlet and even ITK said he wasn't coming back.)
De Zerbi - barely a season in the Prem, so can't say how much better he really is
Spalletti - just won a league with Napoli, but nobody knows how he'd fare over here
Alonso - inexperienced
Kompany - a bit more experienced than Alonso and won the championship. but did the right thing and extended at Burnley so interested in seeing how they do next season
Carrick - inexperienced

Basically every single manager is a risk in their own way. I'd say a couple are possibly better than Slot. But the important factor is going to be those around the manager. He may not seem better, but is he the right fit? Was Poch the best manager when we hired him? Nope. But he was the one we needed to fit with the club at that time.

I heard that as well, and do have the same concerns. However, you have to trust that Slot has the tactical intelligence to evolve his tactics to deal with the challenges of the league. This is hopefully the advantage of getting a younger more progressive coach above an older 'win-now' manager with a trusted formula that they are unwilling to deviate from.

I also have worries about our wing-back heavy squad but I definitely think most of them (with the exception of Perisic - who will probably move on anyway) are young and malleable enough to be coached to play full back effectively. For instance, I don't see any reason why Porro can't defensively get to the level of Trippier, he has better physical tools, just needs to be coached better awareness and decision making in defensive situations.
even if we do end up struggling to break down low blocks a little. (lets be honest everyone even city do sometimes) Its still better to be the team forcing the low block than the one in it.

Really hope the manager search seeming to be (finally) kicking off in earnest that it means we know (or are confident) who the DoF is and he is a fan of Slot

So its Slot... I guess I am happy - 6.5/7 out of 10 happy. No JN but a lot to be positive about. Just cant shake the feeling of...slight meh
Harsh. JN is a 10/10. Slot IMO is 8-8.5/10.

Just to give some context to the scale, it goes from Nuno (0) to Prime Poch (11) (y)

Cos it's still Levy and the 1000 voices of indecisiveness that has to get it over the line.
Haha ‘Levy and the 1000 voices of indecisiveness’ sounds like some sort of Lord of the Rings / Game of Thrones spin off series 🤣

So so true though with Levy nothing is done until it’s done and could change his mind at any minute or be influenced by someone else.

This sounds more positive though.

Slot is the one I’ve wanted all along from the start just like I wanted Ten Haag in summer of 2021.

Slot ticks so many boxes and I’ve always felt that the Dutch ‘total football’ pass and love style of play is the closest thing to the ‘Tottenham way of Tottenham DNA’ / style of play that we all love to see.

Also he’s bald and the last bald Dutch manager we had was the most loved in recent times apart from Poch.

If Levy does appoint Slot and a strong DofF with a similar ethos to support him and leaves them and Munn too it then I will fall off my chair because he will have realised his mistakes and made good decisions to rectify them.

Of course no Manager is a guarantee of success but I think Slot is proven yet not too big of a name which is exactly what we need, if so and if we have him reasonable backing and control then personally I’d ease up on levy as fair is fair it would show that mistakes have been learnt from but long way to go from that point as it stands, but hopeful as would be nice to be able to be more positive and just focus on and enjoy the team and project as that’s what it’s all about really, enjoying the journey and having fun and hope.

🤞🤞🤞🤞 🧑‍🦲 🇳🇱 🙏

We are almost there. These late comments from everywhere is behind the party.
Very promising, also interesting because it seemed that we would be going for a DofF first so either we are doing it the other way around or our ducks 🦆 are starting to line up 🙏
