Great post, mate. Big Ange has been a long-time choice of mine (for all I know!), and, just to add to all the excellent points you’ve made, I suggest that people watch the ‘Postecoglu takes training with a mic on’ Celtic vid on YouTube. Handshakes and good words with each player beforehand, then clear, sharp, easy-to-grasp directions throughout.

The main brief, though, is always to ‘take one touch, then pass the ball and move into space - create space and angles’. This is literally what the great Spurs sides were founded on - the ‘push and run’ sides. He also usually sets up to give one player an entirely free run within his teams, meaning they can link up with play in any way they see fit.

I've also seen interviews with him where he says that he actually enjoys joining a club when they are in need of change, as I gives him more creative freedom to shape a squad and develop it afresh.

Personally, I think he’d be an awesome appointment.

Have we had any ITK type updates on him? Amorim and Slot have been mentioned but I've heard nothing to suggest he's been linked apart from him and Munn obviously being of the same nationality.

If you did want him, not having ITK updates would be a positive i'd of thought !

Is it just me or is anyone else feeling quite positive and excited for where we are headed?

The last few years have been so poor to watch (bar a few matches), I'm personally really encouraged by the type of names we are being linked with for these roles at the club. It's encouraging to me and i'm excited for what it could look like next season.

I guess it depends how positive or negative you choose to be about things. I choose to be positive.

In theory, yes. There's finally recognition from the top that we have to rip things up and do something more radical than simply installing a big name manager and crossing our fingers. The sticking point is faith that Levy and the board will actually manage that successfully. If it does happen, I feel they might stumble across it by sheer luck, rather than by a series of smart footballing decisions.

I agree. I could get on board with every name we've been linked to (even Rodgers or Potter). We already have a decent squad. Getting back to playing front foot football with manager who trusts youth and wants to grow with the club is exciting to me.

I feel more unsettled at the moment. On top of what we have been through over the last 4 years we now seem to have torn that "plan" up or opted for a hard reset. I donzmt have a problem with this at all. But we don't seem to have the main protagonists in place. When these are in place I think I will have that hope and positivity and perhaps optimism back.
Right not though we feel adrift and isolated.

I was a bit hip hip hooray last friday and excited about things, then friday we got the Nagelsann crap and well... I learnt not to display any excitement

Ill be honest, I am excited but when I think about it more, im more relieved that the season is coming to an end. Im more relieved Conte has gone.

I do believe that Levy and the Board know things need to change, im hopeful theyre going to change things and im optimistic. It could be all in blind hope - I dont know. One thing is for sure, right now, we are a joke club and the media have latched on to it and it aint nice to read

Wouldn’t necessarily say excited but I definitely believe it’s not as bad as some make out on here

I normally would be quite excited about a clean sweep and new start but these past few years have ground it out if me.
I can't seem to muster any enthusiasm that Levy will get it right this time.

I’m sorry but for me, there’s currently nothing to be ‘positive’ or ‘excited’ about.

How about actually appointing a manager first & seeing what our squad looks like, before inevitably setting ourselves up for failure again.

I'm excited about the blank page we have. I am not excited about who is in charge of writing on it.

Just been seeing the replies to the clubs latest and I was thinking how bad it is , every reply to a meaningless pre season friendly is Levy out.

So I expect some sort of present thrown at us by Saturday otherwise it's going to be more toxic than ever and the poor ladies will be playing in front of 200 people and if it's for example a DOF the positivity will drop through slowly.

And then providing the manager isnt a Nuno style one (and I included Mason in that, 😔) I expect most of the "LEVY OUT" posters will suddenly start with the "were cooking!" Or they will be making their shopping lists for players.

Personally I've found the membership price rise detestable and I'm not a member! To do that to your customers when delivering a poor product for already top tier prices when you know how unhappy they are really speaks volumes to how you see your customers /supporters .

Sorry to put all that in the next manager thread but it's all connected. A new exciting manager who is positive can quickly turn us round but he is also going to have to serve as a PR machine for a board who grow increasingly isolated and unlikeable

As long as I see that bald little man calling the shots I will never feel positive about this club going forward.

I'm feeling more positive about the idea of better football and a different formation, but I'm well aware that's just my Spurs tinted glasses providing me with copium while the reality centre of my brain knows that the biggest problems with the club remain and will continue to do so.
