If its Slot i hope he brings John de Wolf with him. He looks like he'd kick the shit out of any slackers in our team.

Our little princesses will be running straight to Daniel if he even looks at them funny.

He's already kicked the shit out of Gary Lineker. Marked him out of the game back in 1992 when we played Feyenoord in the Cup Winners Cup QF

I know that in England it is very common for the manager to have a lot of power over transfers, but I prefer the structure where the director of football has the final say. The coach has to have a voice, as he has a vision of what he wants on the football field, so I think it's essential to find two compatible people for this relationship, rather than giving too much power to a coach who barely has time to observe. other leagues, as much of his focus is on coaching the team and studying the opponents we're going to face. And finally, a change of director tends to be much less frequent than the change of coach, so I believe it brings greater stability to delegate more responsibility for the direction of the club to the director of football. Both models can work, but I think entrusting that power to the manager is more risky imo.

The procrastination of this hunt for a DOF and manager is surely impacting on making moves for players, especially some good freebies

Klopp and Pep and Arteta are running their shows. They may have great support from DoFs, but the idea that those clubs' strong performance is DoF driven is nonsense.

The biggest risk to City's hegemony comes when Pep leaves, not when some suit 'above' him leaves.
Disagree strongly here. You can see Liverpool’s recruitment got worse when Edwards left. Edu has been as central to rebuilding Arsenal as Arteta.

This was the approach with Arnesen back in the day. Santini walked, and we were live on TV the very next game. Arnesen was in the studio and just brushed off the impact, said he was the constant, the coaches were chosen by him to deliver what he wanted, and inevitably the coaches would change, but his visionmessage would stay the same.
He then took Roman’s money and did a runner, undoing all the value to his comments. But in principle it made a lot of sense.
That’s why I initially wondered if this Nagelsmann statement was about the visuals of the DoF being the one choosing the manager. Wait to see who comes in then miraculously if they pin their colours on JN, then the club pull the trigger as a DoF led appointment. Especially viable if it is Spors or Krosche who both worked with him previously.

It blows my mind that these people can get to the level of being on the board of an organisation this size and apparently conduct business in this way.

They obviously can’t be unintelligent - but the thought of a board acting in this manner is beyond comprehension.

Regardless of knowing that Conte was leaving since December. To have not decided their approach since sacking him seems ludicrous. What are they doing in these meetings and how can they not agree on an approach when the situation has been as it’s been for months?
I wonder if it would take as long to make a decision if it was to do with entertainment or Go Karts etc think not.
All about priority to Levy/ENIC and football is very last.

Arne Slot now at 7/2, with Brendan Rodgers and the rest of the pack 8/1. Really hope we can see us honing in on Slot and DOF before the Brentford game. Slot for me has to be the one based on current situation we find ourselves in.

It's not just her mate, our entire board is made up of accountants and economists. There isn't a footballing brain amongst them.
Great a bunch of business 🤡 and analysts deciding the footballing side.
Sometimes I wish it was back to the old white hart lane and a manager deciding footballing matters.
