I don’t think his shot stopping has dropped off much at all - he still regularly makes brilliant saves. It’s the error count that is the problem

It hasnt dropped off at all. Too many errors is all.
Will be a club legend for me and always welcome back

I think that's the least we should do for him, given his service to our club.
Whilst I love the sentiment and think he's been a wonderful servant, we're not a charity.

We may have a loyalty bonus we have to pay him for the end of his contract. Saudi clubs aren't short of money so they may be open to paying us a small but fair fee, in which case we shouldn't just waive it as it could go towards our summer transfer budget.

Thoughts from your view on Forster being on the Freidel end of the scale? Not necessarily staying on his line but he just looks so stiff going for dives on the stretch/low im not convinced hes a massive upgrade on lloris except for as you say in your example the more glaring clangers are less frequent.

By far the best backup i feel like we've had for a good while though for sure.
I thought Gazzaniga was pretty good. Made a couple of mistakes but over all a very good goalkeeper.

Forster is ok, I think the bar was set so low for him after the Leicester game everything else has seemed good.

A bit of a shame all these players retiring in Saudi. Bit like the China league a few years ago. I get the pull of the bunce, but a GK could play at a decent level until he's 40 tbh.

If he decides to leave then its with a heavy heart but goes with all my blessings. He's been captain of one of the best Spurs teams I've seen play, and an all time club legend... best since Jennings. I hope he returns to be part of the club.

I love Hugo... While I can accept that he's started making a few errors and his time with us is coming to a natural end I really do hope he'll get a run out in the final home game against Brentford so we can show him our appreciation and give him the warm send off he deserves.

Hugo is one of my trigger points when I stop taking people seriously. It amazes me how many Utd/Liverpool fans I know who think he's always been a poor keeper o_O I appreciate rival fan banter and all that but seriously? how can people look at Hugo over the past 10 years with us and think he's a poor GK :banghead:

I think people need to remember that a keeper will make many mistakes over the course of a 10 year period. Mistakes will happen at some point, it's inevitable. How many has De Gea made for United? Both have been long standing servants for their clubs, both can be great, both have made errors. Especially recently.

I personally don't think any of those were below average or average, pretty solid keepers for me.
They all had their faults, as do most keepers but we're decent most of the time.
Gomes is one of the most brilliant keepers I have ever seen. He's also one of the worst.

He was properly crazy!
When he got over the stage of wanting to come off and pretending he was injured because it was a bit rough, he became a great keeper for us.
Mentally suspect but incredibly talented.

Gomes was a bigger liability in his prime than Lloris is now. The number of long shots that just squirmed past him. Friedel was a step up when he was signed and then when we captured Lloris it was the first time we'd had a proper world class keeper that I can remember (considering the first one I remember watching was Erik Thorsvedt).

The best Gomes performance was against us in the UEFA Cup
I remember that game well as I was there and he did have a stormer against us and it was obvious they would win on pens due to him.

I personally think his best performance was Arsenal at home 09/10. We won 2-1 with that Danny Rose goal and Gareth Bale I believe. Gomes made multiple world class saves (2 from Van Persie) stick out.

great night that!

He also made saves Brad Friedel wouldn’t even dream of, and was much more proactive. I’d take Gomes over Friedel anyday, even with the errors

Very close between him and Clemence. He was a fantastic keeper

Matt Law says he's set to leave. Raya a potential replacement.

Hugo Lloris is expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer as the club prepare for the visit of the man who could replace him, Brentford’s David Raya.

France World Cup winner Lloris will miss the final two games of the season, including Saturday’s clash with Brentford, through injury and it appears increasingly likely the 36-year-old has played his final game for Spurs.

Lloris has a contract that runs to the summer of 2024, but expectation is growing that he will bring his 11-year stay at Tottenham to an end this year.

Having joined from Lyon for an initial fee of under £10 million, Lloris has been one of Tottenham’s best value-for-money signings and is also the club captain.

It is believed Lloris already has an offer from Saudi Arabia to treble his wages and Tottenham are preparing to move for a new goalkeeper with Raya near the top of their list.

Raya, who has also attracted interest from Chelsea, could enhance his reputation inside Tottenham on Saturday, although a good performance for Brentford could also dent the club’s, and potentially his own, hopes of playing in Europe next season.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has valued Raya in the region of £40 million and the club appear to be preparing for his departure by moving for Freiburg goalkeeper Mark Flekken.

Flekken has an £11.3m buy-out clause in his contract and is said to be in advanced talks over a switch to Brentford.

Freiburg sporting director Jochen Saier said: “It’s possible that Mark will leave us. But that is legitimate. For him, it's also about the timing: When do you take the next big step? There is interest from the island and also know that it is lucrative. In this respect, there is a possibility.”

With Lloris out injured, 35-year-old Fraser Forster, whose Spurs contract also runs to 2024, will continue to deputise against Brentford.

Very definitive in the team news on BBC today about him leaving too.

Spurs defenders Eric Dier and Japhet Tanganga could return after both were absent with minor issues last weekend.

Rodrigo Bentancur and Ryan Sessegnon will be available next season, while captain Hugo Lloris has played his last game for the club.

Love how Foster's distribution kept the scoresheet respectable at 3-1.

Next we should try Porro in goal he has a good passing range too.
