Anyone booing Sanchez is a ****, seriously

Sanchez isnt at fault for his performances nor can he blamed for them

UNLESS HE IS SAYING
"Guys lets play deep and pass me the ball in tight situations" its not his fault

We have a CB who isnt suited to playing deep and not suited with the ball at his feet, its not his fault we are choosing to play to his weaknesses!

Also, a player who has been given a run is always going to be rusty.

This doesn't mean I want Sanchez to be given a run in the team and playing for us for the next few weeks, as clearly he doesn't suit whatever the manager is trying but he was a big reason why we got CL instead of arsenal last season and its funny people forget that.

Not saying its right to boo the players but some of you are going over the top with these reaction today. PSG fans are booing Messi regularly in France. Real Madrid spent years booing Bale. These are some of the best players ever. Booing is part of the game, just a shame for Sanchez that he got to experience it today.

Being at today’s match it was no where near as bad as the booing Emerson received back in November, even though it was a minority, it’s a horrible look.

Like most at the ground today we just sighed and that was when Eric Dier from a free kick hesitantly decided to sideways pass it when he could’ve easily kicked the ball forward.

Getting sick of the 3 CBs and lack of movement off the ball. So static and that’s not just all on Sanchez. There is so much wrong with the way we play and he is yet another easy target.

People being frustrated is fine but if they engaged their brains for two mins they would realise it's not his fault at all. He's a player who is trying his best. Is he good enough? No. But he should be here. Look at the reason he is and direct your energy there but not at our own players.

Brian dead these people
Agree fully dude, just trying to think why people would do that, lady close to us was giving it the finger and telling him to fuck off as he walked off the pitch 🤷🏻‍♂️

This gets banded about a lot for our players, I dont think this is true at all

When you dont buy the players that dont suit your philosophy, you will end up with this situation!

If your coaches dont coach or adapt to what they have you end up with a whole squad underperforming and that's what's happened for the last 4 years

Maybe it's a generational thing. I'm mid 30s but very old school in my approach to fandom. I don't like never abuse or boo our own players I don't understand it.

maybe it's dramatic but it's our own fans that are putting me off football

Nah, can’t be. I’m 45 and the lady doing it looked around my age or older!

PSG fans are booing Messi, because they are questioning his commitment and just think he came for the money
Bale was similar but complicated as his club rival imo fanned those flames

Here we are booing a player for trying their best in a role they aren't suited to, its just mean and a bad look

Is the behaviour alcohol related?

I ask because i just dont see who benefits when you boo your own player when they are on the pitch other than the opposition. It is just baffling. Just because you paid a lot of money to watch, that doesnt give you the right to act like that. There were people celebrating like a goal was scored when he was subbed.

The fanbase has form for this, they did this with Emerson earlier and i remember when they did it to Gus Poyet once.

If you want to vent, surely you do it after the game, or on social media but not when your team is playing, surely you are suppose to support and encourage when they are on the pitch.
I don't know about alcohol related because I was always bladdered at games and never booed, maybe because I'm usually a happy drunk?
I think some of it comes down to herd mentality, in that a few start and other join in just to feel a part of something.

I don't really have any answers, just that when I used to go, we'd get pissed, have fun and cheer every little moment from a good tackle to a throw in won.
Maybe the expectations are lower when you've got Iverson and Armstrong up top. 😂

People just like to be miserable these days and have lost the ability to enjoy the little things in life.

Think we may have the worst fanbase in the league now. We treat our own players like utter shit and then demand loyalty from players like Kane when it comes to signing new contracts. We are just a complete circus from top to bottom and its getting to the point where its more enjoyable to not follow football at the moment.

Yeah I'm trying to not be hyperbolic but today is making me question a few things that's for certain, I'm glad you phrase it by saying we because ultimately we're a collective and if the majority of the fans are getting behind the team and having a higher standard then ultimately that will be what defines our fanbase. Right now we're entitled, don't seem to care about the humans involved and hides behind the players wages and their own choice to buy tickets. No matter how much people plead otherwise, it is a choice.

I've experienced this in my own life and it fits here, they're simply some people who feel like they shouldn't have to change their behaviour towards people because they expect others to meet their demands and they can't see what's two inches in front of their face which is that things would be better if they themselves changed instead they continue to cause damage which leads to them not getting what they desire. They're fans that are too stubborn and feel owed so they think they shouldn't have to offer support when the players are playing poorly and they can't see that by doing so, they contribute to the anxiety in the players. Yes you may throw your support behind players sometimes and the result be disappointing but you can go home with the solace of knowing you fulfilled your role in the best possible manner. It's not always easy, the same way it's not easy for me to type this post without letting my frustrations get the better of me in articulating my opinion but you have to at least attempt to do it. A stadium full of fans for 20 or so minutes acting like that can't hide behind frustration getting the better of them in the moment, that's a drawn out group effort.

Over here it's different and I don't want us to be lumped in with PSG and Madrid fans.
They're a bunch of pricks who don't appreciate what they have, we've never been that but nowadays, it feels like that's what we're becoming.

You only ever think about booing someone who has disrespected the club or the fans, never when they are doing their best, however limited that may be.

It’s such a shame that people think treating a player like this is acceptable. We all know his limitations, but he didn’t deserve that.
It feels that some fans think we’re something else, a well oiled machine, a well run club. We’re not. We’re a mess…..and that has nothing to do with Sanchez. It’s really sad how we can turn on our own players.

Any fan that booed his every touch today and cheered him off while he was in tears should quite frankly naff off and support Man City or another plastic club.

We don’t need that kind of plastic, toxic ‘support’ anywhere near our club. I don’t care how frustrated people might be with the club and Levy etc, you don’t take it out on one player like that.

I’ve been going to Spurs since I was just under 3 years old.

I’m not sure I’ve ever felt as upset and ashamed of our supporters as I am today.

Sorry to linger on the Sanchez thing but it’s really in my head, I’m so upset with the reaction. I always took pride in our fans especially when we were rubbish in the 90s but today is a low point in my life supporting us.
Yep. We’ve gone through so many lows at spurs fans but I had never considered stopping supporting us until I heard the fans booing him today.

Yep, we’ve seen it worse than ever this season with Davinson and Royal and to a lesser degree Dier.

t’ll break most players for sure. Imagine the impact on these players mental health. It’s disgusting.

Testament to Sanchez, he didn’t show any disrespect to the coaches or the club (many a player would’ve ripped the shirt off and thrown it on the deck before storming down the tunnel). He looked genuinely shell shocked and sat on the bench looking completely deflated.

poor bloke 😢

Mental health and all that, in this day and age people are more aware of out of order unessercary behaviour and booing Davinson's every touch and pass or as he's come on or gone off when he's not shown a bad attitude is very poor and not needed from our fans.

I always show respect towards all people. But most of all, I always afford even more respect towards anyone who is suffering a tough moment in life.
Yes everyone has a right to express his opinion freely but no one has a right to belittle/insult/hurt anyone's feelings. Remember, to err is human, and I ask all of US to look into the mirror.
