I love Poch, but my head tells me Nagelsmann would be the better choice. I've switched my vote to him.

It’s a good time to change coaches. Some fantastic talent available right now so levy can’t say the opposite.

we are tho seemingly watching the free coaches slowly (in a week) get new gigs whilst we have meetings and talk to pets.

Slot would be a major risk at this stage.

Gallardo and Nagelsman have a bit of longevity as they have proven it in very tough situations and in the very best competitions.

Whereas Slot, who does look very impressive, is doing it in the Dutch league where many have stood out there over the years but flopped elsewhere.

Ten Hag was a clear stand out because he actually had experience at Bayern.

If we choose Slot over Nagelsman then we are completely nuts

I don't think there's any scenario where we have Slot and Nagelsmann ready to sign the contract, and we choose Slot.

If we could agree a deal for Nagelsmann in the summer I'd prefer we just keep Conte until the end of the season. We've known his contract is ending anyway but he is experienced enough to get on with the job and get us top 4. It would be fun to see him back after all this and sends a message to the players they are not invincible. If everyone knows he's being replaced by Nagelsmann it releases the tension and the whole cloud over what's happening. The players and manager can just get on with it until the summer. It happens more with international teams knowing a manager is going but they still can perform.

What would worry me though, is with our lot, and a manager that they no longer respect and have zero drive, will the hope of top 4 evaporate immediately?

That's a bit of a stretch to include Jol because he played here
Not really. He understood British football culture, the dynamics of the dressing rooms here. Sense of humour, etc. These things do count for something when working in another countries even though the PL is more cosmopolitan now.

I think they would be determined because top 4 is for them next season to play in the CL. I also don't think it's unrepairable to the extent they would never play for Conte again. Certainly the likes of Hojbjerg and Kulusevski haven't made it seem like they wouldn't play for him. He just needs to explain himself and apologise so we can move on. I think if the players know he is gone soon it won't matter so much.

Looking at the poll on here, it would be interesting to know with those who wanted Tuchel, who would you be happy with next instead? Looks like the top three is Poch, Gallardo and Nagelsmann.
I thought the poll was fixed to make it so you could change your answers but I haven't been able to.

My top 5 in order from those options:

Nannasfan..er...Naglesman.
Di Zerbi
Postecoglou
Poch
Gallardo

I'd also be fine with Amorim, Fonseca or Slot but they're a tier below those 5.

The merry go round of Poch, Tuchel, Nagelsmann, De Zerbie, Enrique and Slot is very similar to the new manager hunt of 2021. Given how that ended this will only conclude one way:

I don't see any point in retaining Conte's services now. At best, the players will be determined to play in the Champions League next season, but if this is the case, it will apply irrespective of who is in charge.

At worst, having Conte around will make everyone miserable. I doubt he's popular enough for the players to want to bust a gut for him to give him a good send-off. So what edge does he give us now? Some tactical nouse, maybe? I'm not convinced, given some of the recent results.

Someone new might at least give the place a mood lift, even if it's an interim coach.
