I’m not interested in what he’s said in the press conference - as others have pointed out he’s now interested in one thing, and one thing only: self-preservation. He is hoping for the sack, but will absolutely not quit before the end of his lucrative contract. He has a right to do that - no comment on the morality of that from me

The depressing situation we now find ourselves in - a rudderless ship with a manager who couldn’t make it more obvious that he doesn’t want to be here - is entirely on Levy. He needs to take ownership of this situation. He’s already missed the obvious opportunity to do that. To borrow a Peep Show-ism, ‘daddy’s hat’ well and truly fell off in the summer of 2021 during the cataclysmic and baffling managerial search. The aforementioned hat is still AWOL. Levy has been maddeningly frustrating at times, over the years. But I’d argue it’s only since 2021 that he’s made decisions that are obviously completely wrong. I also have zero faith in Paratici making good strategic decisions, and I’m concerned that he holds too much sway with Levy and the club.

. He's not trying to purposely antagonise anyone. You'll probably even find he's more pissed off with himself than anyone that hasn't worked out.
Should be embarrased nevermind annoyed. We've one of the best strikers in the world and set up to barely get in the oppositions half.

I'd totally agree with chanting against Levy but just don't see the point of chanting for a manager that we don't have, very possibly won't get and who a large chunk of the fanbase don't want.

Just doesn't make sense to me because I can't see the point of it.
But you see the point in chanting against Levy who is not going to sell the club, or suddenly run it completely differently - regardless of the chants?

I’m not fussed by the Poch chants one way or another (definitely against anything that may turn supporters on each other if that’s the case though)

But I’d be fully in support for any Conte Out chants though. He and Levy need to know what the fans think, and want - because this is something Levy can change.

I was speaking to my sisters today, both of who are doctors and they were both saying he doesn't look well at all.
I don’t get it, if I was him I wouldn’t have come back. Both parties could have cited ill health or something and sorted out the contract stuff behind the scenes.
Most people in a ‘normal’ job would be off sick still, sabbatical or would have walk out.
It was the perfect opportunity for him.

im confused how he is still manager. I dont care if he wins tomorrow.

I want him gone or extend his contract. This situation isn't good for anyone

We sacked Mourinho in April and then waited till the summer to prove we had no plan. The same can't happen again

I suspect any delay now is because they want to bring the next one in immediately after he’s sacked and not go into the summer rudderless like that godawful summer. Surely, I mean SURELY, they learned from that.

Even if they arnt Conte's choice signings, you need to work with what you have.

As I keep seeing l, he is a genius apparently, so should be able to coach a good squad (and player wise they are a good squad of players) to play football..... But with what we have seen recently, and most of this season! It's not there. For some reason Conte has us playing with the hand break on, we see it in small bursts at times what we can do when playing fast one touch football and create chances/or goals.

I have said before, Enic/levy need to go. Conte needs to go, and some players need to go!

I agree, but why bother with a manager like Conte in the first place of you aren’t going to back him implicitly? Same with Jose, these type of managers don’t make do they want who they want and get the arse on when they don’t

In summary, Conte needs to go and ENIC need to follow swiftly

You mean the dreaded vote of confidence?
No. A comment directed at the team and supporters that Conte is in charge.

Maybe that gets everyone pulling in the same direction, and stops all of the questions about Conte, and all of the dreamed up answers.

Levy and Paritici might be frustrated that Conte won't commit beyond this season - but, they both should themselves be focused on the best possible outcome for this season. They failed the club by hiding behind Conte, and Conte's press conferences, knowing that Conte could not speak on their behalf.

The sheff united decisions really undermine the idea that Conte is some sort of supernatural winning mentality guru. What an unreal decision to fuck it all up.

After back to back london derby wins, the schedule was CL ties, Sheff united, wolves, forest, southampton, everton, brighton, bournemouth. I mean, talk about lining things up for winning!

The guy is a fraud and any reasonable manager would identify this period as a huge opportunity to kick on. Instead, the season has turned to shit, even though there is still a chance to push on in the league.

Dour football and a failure to string a winning run together all season. The sooner he's gone, the better.

More quotes now coming out after the blackout about how fans losing patience with him isn't helping the team.
He really is taking the piss at this stage. The prick had us over a barrell last season so we took his shit & he really had the upper hand but we have been terrible this season & he is mainly (not solely but mainly) to blame for that but he's deflecting it off and trying to lay the blame to anyone but himself.

Its irrational but I won't be reading any more of his press pieces or listening to his interviews unless it's him resigning. Can't stand people not taking responsibility.

His embargoed comments are provocative and unecessary but it is true about the fans’ patience being gone. The atmosphere has been terrible all season, every time we are not winning at half time there is a chorus of boos meeting the whistle. Also I know this is kind of random but I was stunned by how quickly everyone in the stadium turned on Nuno. My guess if it wasn’t for covid it might have been the same with Mourinho. Makes me fear for the next manager because even if we appoint someone I’d like like Postecoglou or De Zerbi I doubt they’d be afforded the time necessary as they are not big names. It’s why Enrique might be a best of both worlds - a big name with a progressive style. Ultimately if we get the next managerial appointment wrong and things don’t improve I can only see the situation worsening so it’s a huge decision.

LMAO he’s actually asking us for patience, the man who has about 3 months left on his contract, won’t sign a new contract, won’t even say whether he wants to be here and constantly belittles the club.
We’ve lost patience because our season is over after we’ve been knocked out by forest, Sheff U and an average Milan side without even laying a glove on them.

Do us a favour and walk please Tony.

What a cock. We’ve been the most patient fanbase in the league. He won’t even commit to a longer contract. Just as well serving up the shit we’ve had to watch this season.

Never go after the fans.

Especially when you don't play on the front foot football.

You will always come off worse and lose any support you have

His head's gone
In his defence. He doesn't look great and losing friends has probably taken its toll.

But then again its clear that its best for all if he was to just go back to Italy and be with his family.

He's probably hoping Levy and co put him out of his misery because I imagine he sees it as quitting and he isn't that guy.

But if he did do that and cite his health, he'd gain a lot of respect.

His comments almost make it look like he'd sign an extension if offered, obviously he can say that now if he knows they will not offer one. So strange.

Joke comments, those. The patience is only gone because not a single person can see a single green shoot of literally anything positive. He was strolling around to verses of "Antonio" only a couple of months back despite us relying on grafting wins having fought back from being goals down over and over. Patience, ffs. We're getting worse, and it's not because of any injuries. It's the fucking system and the management of the squad and individuals.

We're playing terribly and have just gone out of two cup comps in a week in which we played with negative levels of ambition to definitely and then arguably weaker opposition. We've been shit for the whole season. There are shades of Nuno's Manager of the Month to almost every win bar a couple, in that we have been total shit but somehow got the points from a set piece or an individual effort.

He's had more than a year now to show...anything, but we have regressed since last season despite adding to the squad significantly. The players we've added don't get used and are now miserable and/or confused, or crocked. The players we already have get used in ways that expose their weaknesses and play to none of their strengths. We can all see this, because we've been here a long time. We're not stupid, Antonio.

I'm tired of seeing Sonny coming short to take the ball on the turn over and over and over and failing at it, while not even giving one of the most gifted finishers in the world a single ball to run onto for the whole game, week after week, to the point where a legend of our club looks shot. It took you 12 months to work out that Emerson Royal can't cross a ball, and to devise a genius plan to in fact stop him from trying, and make him play inside instead. I'm tired watching a two man pivot struggle.

I'm tired, Antonio. You're tired. We're all tired. The football is bad, you're making our good players look bad, and now you're making the club look bad and chucking the fans under the bus you want to park in our half. Time to go back to the sun with your family and recuperate. We all need it.
