Third highest turnover in UK, ninth in the world. Can't successfully negotiate a transfer. Stop organizing concerts, conferences, hotels and training ground facilities. Are we a football club?

Does Levy want to sell season tickets or arrange grid iron games?

He promised to get his eye back on the ball. Actually made me laugh when I read it had potentially gone tits up. Comedy gold, until reality sets in.

So many different reports. I would say it's still on and if anything it's just small details needing ironed out than anything major, that's my take on it.
I find it hard to believe that its off given the player wants to go, has said his goodbyes.

Another day at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club...

For once, could we have zero drama? Pretty please?

We have messed about all month on this deal.

In January, you have to pay more and make it attractive to the selling club.

Chelsea are swift as they tend to pay what the selling club wants but they get who they want in.

spurs have the money to pay the entire fee now up front if they wanted to, or in 2 instalments.

but instead we penny pinch, trying to be clever and piss about, annoying the seller and more and more often, the seller will pull a trick like this.

brought it on ourselves as this deal could have been done on January 1st.

On one hand, it's comforting that every other outlet is staying it's still on but with some hitches.
On the other hand, Ornstein is probably the worst one to have stating that the deal is off ?

What I would say is if they have completely reneged at this point there is probably another offer on the table.

Total guesswork on my part though.

But if we agreed everything on a price, then the selling club move that price again. How is that bringing it on ourselves?

Is it Aston Villa’s owners? Or Dybala’s third party rights?

Stop re-writing history. I can’t even remember why Moutinho went wrong.
Stop re-writing history

The villa owners came in much.later

The previous owners, the xhinese ones, were willing to sell for 25m

Little midget wanted to fleece them till dateline day thinking they will be desperate and keep making ridiculous offer like 3m + Onomah in between

The new owners then turned up and told Levy to get lost

If that is the case, there is no option but to match it. Not many RWB options out there as it is, especially this late!

The fact Romano wrote "talks continue today to resolve the issues" gives me hope.

While Sporting are clearly taking the piss here, I don't think they would bother spending this much time negotiating with us if they don't want the deal to get done. They're being cheeky ****s and trying to squeeze out a little more money but I don't think they want us to to walk away.

As for the "why didn't we just pay the release clause earlier then?" thing. Well half the negotiation has been around the structure rather than the amount - I think it's pretty clear we were never in a position to pay the full clause up front, which is why we've spent a month negotiating to make the structure of the deal palatable.

If we don't get the deal done after all this though...that's pretty shocking.
