I think this is why Conte wants another playmaker tbh. Then Harry can switch from a 10 to a 9 a lot more. Get wing backs who make intelligent runs and were looking goodHe was man marked by Jansen for the full 90 mins, and whenever he got near the ball the rest of Brentford swarmed him. When Harry is taking 2/3 Brentford players alone, that's when the other lads need to step up and play through without him. The problem is we can't score a goal unless Harry is at the centre of it in some way.
If im Kane now I only angle for a move if Conte leaves otherwise id stay without necessarily committing to a new contract. Then see what happens next season with a view to extending in 2023.Looks like Haaland to City will be confirmed soon. Any thoughts on how this affects Kane's future?
In terms of destinations, it's hard to see where he can go now. United are in shambles and need rebuilding from the ground up so zero chance he pushes for a move there this summer, while Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal are all no-gos for various reasons. I think it's all but guaranteed he stays for at least 1 more season now as there's zero chance he moves abroad.
Question is what happens after that? Does he run down his contract or can we use Conte to persuade him to sign on?
Unless United make a very strong resurgence under Ten Hag, I simply can't see where he goes that's an upgrade on Spurs within the next 2 years. Think the most likely outcome is he ends up signing a new deal either this summer or next and goes all out for Shearer and Greavsie's records.
I still think he took a knock during the Brighton game and is trying to play through it.This may be 2+2=567 but anyone else think his form has dipped ever since the haaland to city news broke? Or he’s just knackered!
Yeah that could be it. Or the Ashley young foul at villaI still think he took a knock during the Brighton game and is trying to play through it.

He did, and he is.I still think he took a knock during the Brighton game and is trying to play through it.

It is and it isn't. Yes we need a back up option but the chances are whoever that player is will probably not play when Kane is fit. So if we spend big on it an out and out Kane back up is going to be incredibly expensive if he's fit all season. A multi positional option is far wiser imo and by the looks of things the route we are going down.Which makes the opinion of those who constantly say "why would be spend on striker X to play second fiddle to Harry Kane?" look ridiculous.
It's about options. It's about being able to give him the odd (much needed) break.
It's about not pretty much being forced to get him to play with these knocks & niggles.
Weirdly. Many of those people are repeatedly saying "Liverpoo had Salah, Mane, Fabinho, Origi. But still went out and bought Diaz & Jota. That's what big clubs do. They have options, they have succession planning. "
But we get linked with Lauturo, Dybala etc & it's a waste of time because we've got Harry Kane.
Gotta love Spurs Community.
Yeah it's the classic Catch 22. Everyone moans about how "big clubs don't care about depth - just sign Vlahovic/[insert other expensive striker] FFS" but then does it really make sense for a club in our position to spend half their budget on a player who doesn't necessarily get in the first team if Kane's fit? Arsenal totally fucked themselves for about 3 seasons by spending so much on both PEA AND Lacazette when they had so many other problems in the team.It is and it isn't. Yes we need a back up option but the chances are whoever that player is will probably not play when Kane is fit. So if we spend big on it an out and out Kane back up is going to be incredibly expensive if he's fit all season. A multi positional option is far wiser imo and by the looks of things the route we are going down.
Edit: Just realised you used the term "Liverpoo" If I d' have noticed it sooner I wouldn't have replied
Totally agree that we'd be better signing a player like CDK who can play multiple roles and rotate with both Kane AND Kulusevski or Son. Liverpool have done this extremely well with Jota who is effective both off the left and as a no.9.
But I thought everyone knew Chunky Donald Kingsmill...Think you're optimistic thinking that guy doesn't need to have his full name written

Bravo. Charles The Kettle. That's done meOh I totally agree, Trix. And you've seen me being very consistent in my belief that Charles The Kettle is probably our best option, in every sense.
No crazy price attached.
No crazy salary.
Versatile enough to play out wide, or anywhere across the front line.
Young enough to improve even further.
Our most pressing needs are in the WB department and, in my totally uneducated opinion, is where the biggest portion of our budget should be proportioned.
Get that sorted as a priority.
Then see what's left over, and how much we can bring back into the club by selling the likes of Bergwijn, Emerson, Sanchez, (hopefully) GLC & Ndombele, Winks etc. And then put that towards addressing other weaknesses within the squad.
Hope the makes sense? I tried!
Plenty of room at City for him. Once they had Adebayor, Aguero, Dzeko, Tevez and Balotelli, or Aguero, Dzeko, Negredo and Jovetic. It could be similar to Liverpool with 5 great forwards.I think he’s stuck with us …. Missed his opportunity last summer. If he wants to beat shearers record then who else of the top 7 would he go to?
Man City - haaland coming in
Liverpool - unlikely
Chelsea - no chance
Arsenal - no chance
Man Utd - serious rebuild and looks like CR7 is staying
West Ham - ????
Completely agree on the need for a "multi positional" forward. Look at how Liverpool have 5 top players in Salah, Mane, Jota, Diaz and Firmino rotating for 3 positions and they have been using various options in the middle of that 3. And that's ignoring Origi and Minamino who can barely get a look in unless they're rotating in cup games. It is and it isn't. Yes we need a back up option but the chances are whoever that player is will probably not play when Kane is fit.
