I know we have immediate needs but I get more excited about these kind of signings than a first teamers who has already hit a ceiling.

We're never going to sign world-class ready players so now we are going back to a policy of picking up the best youth products who have the potential to reach that level is an exciting prospect imo

At least we would have a song ready made for him once he signs and Dele leaves:

We've got Ali-Cho
Mohamed Ali-Cho
I just dont think you understand
He barely scores on the pitch
but he was cheaper than Vlahovic
We've got Ali-Cho

Surely we'll be missing a trick if we don't use...

If going for him then assume it means Paratici has finally caught on that vlahovic isn't coming to us. Least we didn't waste the whole window chasing him right up to end which we have done previously.

In what world would we go from Vlahovic to this guy? This is clearly one for the academy or possibly to be loaned. Its like saying we're no going for Kessie because we signed Sarr.

He looks a real fucking battler, and one of the highlights on his reel was him skying a shot, for that reason I'm in.

Have always¹ thought² he'd make an excellent Conte-style transformed wing-back, and on that basis it would possibly be a currently useful signing.

He profiles very similar to Rafael Leao, specifically his developmental years at Sporting and Lille. Tall, rangy, electric burst and long strides to escape defenders. Think long term he’d make a very good left winger, like Leao at Milan. Needs to develop a clinical edge, but if he can develop, he already is great at causing major problems with his athleticism and burst. Really think he needs a step between Angers and a club like ours or similar though. Or a series of loans if we sign him.

The fee being mooted is double what we paid for Saar and it's hard to see us spending 60m ish on vlahovic plus an additional potential 20m on him with all the other gaps.

I'm not mad at all at buying every decent 17-18 prospect we are offered for 5-10mil, 20 mil is pretty steep for an 18 year old but I mean eventually we'd have to hit on one of these Ligue 1 players right? RIGHT?

Valued up to 20m euro , Sarr was 15m euro plus add ons. We're not going from chasing Vlahovic at 60m who is proven at Fiorentina to a young prospect at around a third of that.

Being a regular starter at 18-years-old in one of Europe's top leagues show that he clearly has potential. It's no small feat, even if you're playing for a midtable club in the French league.

We're not buying both of them or any combination of strikers at 80m ish so if there's legs to this story then it will rule out vlahovic

No aggregators allowed so you have to turn up DeepL by yourself

they are only a total waste of money when they don't pay off. When they go somewhere else and rip it up they are then "missed the boat" signings and "why didn't we sign him before he went to*insert mid to top end club from inferior league*
Yea I do agree with the above.

It just depends what the clubs ambition/aim is though.

Conte is talking about breaching the gap to Chelsea. I am assuming the aim is to do this in the short term not over 5 years with Conte at the helm.

We will be VERY lucky to do this signing players like Gil, Royal, this lad and hoping they turn into superstars over night.

The sorta signing I could normally get on board with but just not at the moment. If that even makes sense

Sky saying we have been “offered” the chance to sign him. How’s this news, we get offered to sign players all the time. Some we sign, some we don’t.

Stick this on the ignore pile

Surely that depends on what the Hitchen budget is and what the Paratici one is. Totally separate transfers for different needs.
