Looking good then as usual. Wait until Thursday and we'll start hearing the famous "it's difficult to make deals in January" despite been told for a month we will bring 3 in

We're we told we will bring in 3, or we want to bring in 3.... As they are totally different.

Sigh. So sounds like we are not exactly in prime position for significant improvements right now. And the world turns…

Think the Wijnaldum wages can be managed for the rest of the season. Providing we are also moving on Lo Celso and Dele.

Assuming it would be a loan swap with Ndombele which would cover a large percentage of the wage, Dele and Lo Celso also moving would comfortably cover the rest.

If Kessie is a summer deal we need someone now and it makes sense for me, the player knows the league so can come straight in. Really hope this gets done.

The forward is the tricky one, no real links to anyone and most we are linked to are more for the summer. Big week ahead.

Not gonna hold my breath when it comes to 3 in. I think we get 1 (Traore) and then say we tried. Roll on the summer where we need to make BIG moves and many of them.

Sounds like we are just hoping something falls into our laps. Still driven by agents rather than proper scouting, identifying a player and going for him then. Frustrating.

I'm sure we want a lot of things, completely irrelevant compared to what we actually do.

But if people are saying we said we would get 3 in, but we really said we want 3 in, then it is relevant as we never said we will get 3 in to start with.

- As I mentioned yesterday, we do still expect to bring 3 in.

- We don't believe we've missed our chance with Vlahovic although I understand that was AG's opinion rather than the clubs.

- Unlike previous windows, we do have interest in most of the players we are looking to shift. Ndombele, Gio, Tanganga & Dele all have serious interest and if we can line up the players we want, I wouldn't be surprised to see all leave this month with most being on loan with ideally an obligation.

- Hitchen and his team continue to scout the lower leagues and most of the names are already out there as to who we have an interest in. I'm so happy we have adopted this model again as it was successful for us in the past.

Let's not panic just yet. Conte has made it very clear who he wants out of the club and isn't messing around. If the club don't listen, then we will have expensive acquisitions not making the matchday squad which is something we can't afford to do.

We all want to see players coming in now, but as we all know, the market isn't easy in Jan and all clubs are struggling. So I'll judge us at the end of the summer rather than a weeks time.

Last week of the window. I guess now we will see what is possible. Conte got let down by Bergwijn when he scored those goals against Leicester so he won’t be able to be sold now. Clever not taking the same risk with Dele and Lo Celso by leaving them out of the squad all together. Not sure how deliberately not trying to win a game goes down with others but I guess if you want to prove you need transfers in it’s a smart move.

Was it we will or we're aiming/targeting 3 in? Big difference.

We want to bring in 3, and are still aiming to do so. Doesn't mean it will happen though lets see if FP has a bit more about him as regards pushing deals through than Levy did.

I think that has already been the overwhelming statement pushed out this month, so we're well aware already. It'd be incredible, though not impossible that we manage to shift a lot of deadwood & then bring in replacements. Even if we do manage that, the quality that we could bring in, you could possibly argue will be no better than what we moved on. If we move on Alli, N'Dombele & Lo Celso that is 3 creative options gone, couple that with Tanganga, Rodon and Doherty then is 6 players, we def won't replace them in this window and coupled with the fact that we need a striker too makes it hard. I see Traore & a couple of meh signings if we're lucky.

Thanks, that was my point, I quoted someone saying we would bring in 3

despite been told for a month we will bring 3 in

I was just asking if we wanted to sign 3 or would sign 3.

we were told for a month that it’s difficult to make deals in January. And we’ve heard a lot less of the we WILL bring three in.

You’re being totally disingenuous, here.

20 years of ENIC have conditioned me to expect little, except excuses
Absolutely this. I think we know the outcome of any given window in any given season. I'm resigned to accepting what we are now and looking back pre-Poch we were no better on the field than we are now. When/if Conte isn't backed, & he eventually leaves, it'll just be another chance missed in a long line of failures by the owners. I'll wait till the end of the window to see if there is any intent from ENIC, but 20 years is a long enough period to judge where their priorities lie. Imo, you don't get to make that many 'mistakes' in that amount of time without an ulterior motive. For us, as fans, it's just a case of accepting what we are & dealing with it & supporting what team we do have. I hope I'm pleasantly surprised come Jan 31st, 2022.
