Milenkovic is a much better player than he is being given credit for here. He's had some great performances for Fiorentina, especially in the 2019-2020 season. For a fee of under 15 million pounds, he would be a great signing. Remember, Conte reportedly wanted him at Inter to replace Skriniar, and Conte is one of the best player development and evaluators of talent around.

Also, I think he has the mentality to do well in England, too. Fiorentina did an interview with him a while back that was a very comprehensive overview of his footballing philosophy. You can read it in English here: https://www.acffiorentina.com/en/ne...-team/2021-05-06/one-on-one-nikola-milenkovic

This is an excellent post. I don’t believe any more than a tiny minority of people bemoaning him have ever seen him play, they’re just going off the reactions of others who have also never seen him play.

People getting all excited about Botman who is basically a left footed, slower, less experienced, slightly clumsier and shorter milenkovic. And probably a very good defender. And Dier who blamed an academy player for his own trademark dithering and is now flavour of the nanosecond.

edit: I’m sorry. Tetchy this morning apparently ?

Not a great source and seems to be because Fiorentina are selling another CB who is their captain

Selling Sanchez for £35-40m and buying Milenkovic for circa £15-20m, then using the extra £20m cash to stump up the defecit on Vlahovic, only way I see this working.

RCB. Romero & Milenkovic
LCB. Dier & Rodon
Tomiyasu, Tanganga and Davies for depth if we go back 3.

Fine by me. Not fussed about this guy at all - was only keen if it served to help us get Vlahovic.

Can’t see anyone coming close to that. Would be criminal entertaining keeping him if interest was around that amount, and I don’t dislike him as a player.

Also. I think Milenkovic is possibly a werewolf.

Well the good news here is Lyall is a dipshit.
Valid, but isn't it fairly obvious that's what is happening. Lamela out - Gil in, Toby out - Romero in, Gollini was the only one who wasn't brought in while another was on the way out.

Didn’t Gollini replace Hart?

Listen here, Lyall… Just kidding, I do think there’s some validity given what we are currently going through. Think even the Sanchez - Kounde rumors lend to that, as well. I think the bits and pieces about trying to hold out for a Kane decision is playing a part for sure. That’s a huge windfall and would presumably put us in a different bracket of target should it happen. Unfortunately, that’s been strung along and we are a bit screwed because of it. I don’t think it’s nearly as much to do with our deadwood as it is Kane, but I could get if people disagree just based off our history of ins and outs and balancing the books.

There will still be Fiorentina viola in Nikola Milenković's future.

The Serbian defender born in 1997 is in fact very close to renewing the contract which is currently expiring in June 2022.

A deadline too close to leave the purple club quiet, with the risk of losing to zero the player to be warded off.

After the opening signals arrived yesterday, today Milenkovic is really close to the renewal with Fiorentina, so much so that tomorrow a new , last meeting is scheduled to define the last details and put everything in black and white.

targets dropping like flies, less than two weeks left. we’re pretty close to being fucked.

I never think Milenkovic was our first target, maybe second choice if Romero deal didnt go through. That way the links to us cooled down after we signed Romero and other targets like Torres appeared

Nicola and his team are resigned to the fact he wont get his move, Fiorentina have been trying to since last season but he and his team have not played ball. Now it seems no one wants him, his fall back will be to sign with a reasonable release clause.... Fiorentina have been trying hard to get interested parties and a bidding war for ages now, no one has really bitten, only sniffed.
