He was fantastic today. But it is one game. We still need to improve on him

It's not one game though is it, he was superb in the summer.

Look I get it people have this idea that Sanchez has to be on the out list but I always said that if there's one player who can easily go up a gear in the right circumstance it's him.

Sky sports absolutely fucking desperate for Man City to get Kane. Do they not understand what will happen. Utter idiots.

BTW - I stayed out of the thread during the game - but how about the supporters in the stadium? They were every bit as on top of their game as the players. Brilliant atmosphere, with a few cheeky songs thrown in.

I loved when Tanganga came out, and had to walk past the south stand and hearing them sing his name to "He's one of our own"
Can't overestimate just how much the game needs the extra physical contact we saw today, the crowd was absolutely loving it, its so so important for the game and the fans.

Every time City even looked like getting back into the game a tackle went flying in and there was just a huge pulse of passion from the stadium and you could see it being injected into the teams veins.

It really has made me quite emotional to be honest.

Props to the ref today, an actual game off footy rather than fall-on-the-floor-fest.
Absolutely. Grealish seemed to dive less once he realised that the ref wasn't having it.

On the subject of Grealish, he really is on course to become one of the most hated players in the PL now he's signed for City.

That tackle from Skipp on 92 mins! Best moment of the match for me ?

Great team performance. Nobody had a bad game but standout performances from Lucas and Tanganga who despite facing both Grealish and Sterling never faltered. Dele also worked very hard despite seemly being under appreciated on this thread.
Having said that MOM has to go to Nuno who tactics and team organization was excellent. The players have obviously bought into his philosophy wholeheartedly.

No ratings thread.

Today is right up there with my favourite ever wins.

It seems like Kane being a prick has created a real team spirit amongst those who want to be here. On top of the money we'll get, that's another positive that can come from all this. They all really fought for the cause today, really played for the badge, shove that up your oil rich arses.

I have got so much love for Michael Dawson, that's how a club rep should act on TV when representing their club in the media, top guy.

Why do people need to call out the negatives after a performance like that? Every player gave their all today. All 10 out of 10 for me.
I agree but you have to look at where your weaknesses are and where you can strengthen if you want to progress forward.

Lucas, Tanganga and Son (for the goal) absolute stars. And Nuno of course.

The rest all put in a proper shift too. No hiding, no shirking, no sitting back until it was too late. Proper cohesive display.

We are a good football team. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Having a journey beer or three after the match. Pretty much lost my voice today, the atmosphere was the best I've experienced in a long long time.

Are you watching Harry Kane?

Hahahahahaha, fuck off you mugs.

As I said before, Grealish and Sterling must be worried sick, no more easy free kicks/penalties

Two things struck me about that game.......The Ref mainly let the game flow, and seeing and hearing the crowd was fantastic.

Yeah the thing about Sanchez is if you play a style that allows him to be aggressive he flourishes and he’s shown that here as well, if you play a system in which you force him deep you are essentially exposing him without the benefits.

Most players need to be played in the right way to get the best out of them. With few exceptions the vast majority of players are flawed in one way or another and can look complete crap if those flaws are exposed. Today Sanchez was allowed to be aggressive, you had players dropping behind him and covering, Skipp and Hojbjerg helped a lot here so it’s not strange that he played well.

Will he start with Romero? It’s hard to say but our CB partnership should be whoever gives us the best balance not necessarily whose ‘better’ which is actually often a very abstract thing in football, better at what?

Felt such a disconnect last year to the point where I wasn’t bothered if I missed games. One game back and seeing the fans, Son, Nuno, and I can’t wait. Whatever happens this season happens. It will be transitional, but if they all play for each other like that then I will enjoy every minute.
