This release is just another step in the wrong direction for THFC.

I simply don't get it. I feel like an old fuddy duddy with every new marketing scheme the club employs and I am 32!

Having just seen the Liverpool and Chelsea equivalent kits we have DEFINITELY come off the best (or least worst) in the AirMax special stakes!

Guess it's a matter of opinion as I think ours is far worse than both of theirs. I actually quite like the Liverpool one and think the Chelsea one is just boring but not nasty. That sponsor makes ours look so cheap and nasty.

It looks a little bit better when it looks a little bit darker like in the store photo, but the sponsor still ruins it and it's just generally not the nicest IMO.

Chelsea's is OK, Liverpool's is bad, but ours is simply shocking. Thankfully I'll probably never have to look at it again after today.

They're all awful. It's just subjective opinion to say which is worst out of the bad bunch, but I can't see many Spurs fans buying our Air Max "special"

It looks like something a kid would draw and the parents would say "that looks nice" while thinking "what's this ugly piece of shit doing on my fridge"

You’re right, of course, it’s objective opinion on which is best/worst.

From a volunteer football kit designer’s perspective I think ‘ours’ hangs together best.

The oversize Nike Air logo on Liverpool’s creates an imbalance, and the transition from white through grey to black for the sleeves doesn’t sit well, particularly with the black undershirt. It’s not far off the template used for our home kit, and would look better, imo, if the sleeves were white, maybe with black piping around the grey section.

The Chelsea one is pretty ‘Crystal Palace away’ for me. Not in itself a bad thing, but at odds as a ‘Chelsea shirt’ and I really, really don’t like the collar or the chest logo.

Ours? Grey is never going to be a universally liked colour option. While this isn’t a patch on the grey/black halves with yellow trim we had from Under Armour a few years back I do think the colourway works. The leaked version with the yellow AIA probably a bit better aesthetically overall. Certainly not something I’d be throwing £70+ at!

Long shot but does anyone know of anywhere selling the "trainer kit" but with the AIA logo instead of the airmax one? I did order one when they were first listed, which I never got owing to being mucked around by a seller, then simply didn't get around to ordering another, and now everywhere only has them listed with the airmax logo instead, whereas it wasn't so bad in my opinion with the aia logo!

Got an email from the Spurs shop advertising the retro collection just now, and it got me thinking. Which season have we had the nicest kits?

I'm a child of the 90s so never saw these kits in the flesh but the 86/87 season stands out in a big way for me. Barnstormingly brilliant pair of shirts that were the first two images in the email and the light blue from that season was nice too.

If we made a modern version of that dark blue striped kit one day I'd be a very happy man.

I'd vote '85-'87 all day long. First year of Hummel. They managed to be very different but very classy.
Still got the home one too!

The 81 cup final shirt is probably my favourite. What I’m about to say is probably an unpopular opinion, but I thought the 97/98 Pony shirt was beautiful too.

I love that too, I remember the shirt feeling slightly thick/heavier also. To be honest I have a special place in my heart for a lot of the Pony shirts, they were just the ones I grew up with as a kid. The away shirt that year (I think) is actually one of my favourite away shirts. The whole kit in fact, was like navy and cream.

Yeah that navy one was great. I had both the home and away kit, and you’re right they feel thicker fabric. I’ve got some contemporary England Umbro shirts and the quality is nowhere near as good as the Pony kits. Both my 97/98 kits look in far better nick than any of the other kits I have tucked in the wardrobe from Kappa to Puma and UA. Though the 96/97 pony one I’ve got looks shite in comparison.

I loved that kit! Without that kit, I'd have never known the fuck ecru was.
