So why is it ok to criticise Ndombele (in what was a shit show of a performance against Burnley from the entire team) so publicly when, by Mourinho’s admission, he was carrying various injuries and was clearly very unsettled in the country?

I've already answered this.

Winks went downhill ever since he changed number 29 for number 8. That’s all the problem can be, just change back to 29 and he’ll be class again. Problem solved.

Pochettino potentially ruined Winks. When Winks first burst on to the scene he always looked to play the ball early and looked to play the ball forward. Then he started playing tika taka football and to be fair to Winks, stayed disciplined for the team (which fans generally don't understand and therefore hammer players for it).

I like Winks. He is a neat and tidy player and I think if he had some more confidence he could be better than he is. But he isn't a DM and in the role that would suit him better he is competing with N'Dombele and Lo Celso, both of whom are superior in quality to Winks.

Low and behold we drop 1 points and once again it’s scapegoat Winks fault!!!! Not the fault of Sissoko and Aurier forgiving away totally unnecessary free kicks near the area. Not the fault of Sanchez for a bad headed own goal? Not the fault of Bale for not scoring when through. Not the fault of the forwards for taking their foot off the gas in the 2nd half and not scoring more. No the only reason we gave up a 3 goal lead was because Winks was on the field when WHU scored their goals. This is just tiresome the way every time we have a bad result people blame the scapegoat of the moment. It’s a team game. We win as a team and lose as a team. It’s rarely because of just one individual. You all need to grow up and stop reacting like school kids.

That’s where you lost me. Scoring isn’t something you can do at will. Mistakes at the back I can get with. Blaming forwards who have already scored 3 times and hit the post I can’t.

Personally I think Winks attempting to control a stray ball in his own half in the 93rd minute qualifies as “taking the fucking piss” imo

So you'd rather he just shirked responsibility, left the ball and let it go to an opposition player? Get real.

Let’s be honest, shirking responsibility is not something unfamiliar to Winks.

But no. I would’ve expected him to do what any other player would’ve done and cleared the ball, and took a whack doing it.

Winks and Sissoko together make such a god awful midfield pairing. It wouldn’t matter if you put peak Modric or peak Vieira next to them, that midfield wouldn’t do diddly-squat.

Should have taken the shirt No40.

Such a shame he never became the player we thought and hoped he could, for club & country

In what way has he shirked responsibility? He never hides from wanting the ball.

Winks has been made a scapegoat, it wasn't just down to him, there were mistakes elsewhere. However, time and time again we lose all control in midfield when him and Sissoko are paired up. Defensively we don't look strong and provides little creativity going the other way.

I think this is the truth of the matter. Our PPG ratio must be pretty unimpressive with these two in the side at the same time.....

No he doesn’t, to his credit he does like having the ball. The issue being he does absolutely nothing with it. He either goes diagonally to full backs, backwards to defenders or sideways to hojbjerg. He very, very rarely attempts to play forward cutting passes. He shirks that responsibility nearly every game.
