Hopefully Moyes will be back on the touchline , they played better when he self isolated and watched on TV. More of the same , Harry dropping a bit deeper on occasions to feed Sonny or even Gareth if he starts.

3-1 for me - will need to be on it but feeling reasonably confident we will keep the momentum going
Bale to get the third goal?

I'm not sure how to call this. West Ham are in form, have rested a large part of their squad and seem dangerous on the counter. Exactly what we don't want tbh.

No idea what to expect.

Having looked like a steaming turd, they magically transformed and were the better team against Arsenal. Then they smashed Wolves and Leicester. ??‍♂️

We need to be up for a fight, and take our chances early.

It’s always the games that we should win and fully expect to win, that we traditionally lose. But we’ve got Bale mo-fo’s, so suck on that Wet Spam!!

I see an early goal or two for west ham from Antonio and then Jose release the hounds and we smash them 5-2

Yeah the one thing that worries me is 90% of West Hams squad had a nice rest during the international break.

Nevertheless I think with Jose in charge, I feel more confident going into these games now, we just have to attack from the start and don't let up.

Hard to know if having a 2 week rest is a good thing and losing momentum from the previous game or playing Internationals and keeping match sharp is better. Sonny will be well rested as will Tanguy , Moussa , Lucas, Vini, Gio if now fit and Gareth if ready to go. This is their big one of the season so we need to be sharp with no early errors please .

This is the kind of game that makes me miss WHL. London derby, Bale back, good form, the atmosphere would have been quality!

Weve struggled at home to them in the last few years, no wins from last three matches i think? It will be a tough game, will take a scrappy 1-0 for sure.

Edit: Last ten home games against WH (all comps):

W: 3
D: 3
L: 4

?

Think last year was the first year since Bale left that they didn't beat us at least once. First team to beat us at the new stadium. Ended a 9 match winning run by beating us in 2017. Stopped us going top of the league by beating us at Upton Park in 2016. Came back from two goals down at half time to knock us out of the cup at home under Bilic. Beat us 3-0 at home under AVB when we could have gone top of the league with a win.

For years our players have gone into games against West Ham expecting to face a crap, bottom half side that their league position would suggest, but instead have come up against a team playing as if their entire careers depend on that one game. We've had a pretty efficient record against similar standard teams like Palace, Burnley, Stoke, Bournemouth, Villa, Swansea etc over the last decade or so but West Ham (and Newcastle to be fair) always raise their game against us.

Hope to get a nice early goal to settle the nerves and force them to come out. Last thing we want is them nicking something against us on the break or from a set piece and having Moyes drilled defensive side putting 10 men behind the ball with us chasing the game. I reckon Bale will start on the bench so ideally want to see us a goal up with them panicking as they see him start warming up while they're having to push men forward looking for an equaliser.

Reckon he'll start from the bench - imagine the noise when people saw him on the touchlines getting his kit on

If they play the same way as last season against us there won’t be any space for sonny or Bale to run in to. They sat so deep with Noble a defensive midfielder as their most advanced midfielder. This is where Bales long range efforts may be beneficial. I know this is an old cliche but he first goal will be vital - Get an early one and they have to come out which open it up a bit
