Thats was fucking massive. And in all sorts of ways. Easily the biggest thing transfer-wise that had ever happened to Spurs at the time and, come to think of it, English football. There's literally nothing we could do short of signing Lionel Messi at his peak that would eclipse that for me.
Yep - me too ! Rocking up at the Lane for the mid-week game against Villa (after a creditable draw against Forest away with Ricky scoring the equaliser) still basking in the glow of two WC winners in our side from the other side of the world and me convinced we’d win the league that year. The build up at the start of the game, the noise, the passion, ticker tape falling from all four stands on a glorious night for the club - and we got thrashed 1-4!! Oh to be a Spurs fan through the years!!

That’s what these idiots actually think ?
I'm not a big fan if the amount of fame hungry spurs fans but I also don't like how dismissive people are of other fans trying to make a difference.

Take the lads who went down there Sunday. They were ridiculed for it and yet 99% of people on the forums were hating on enic after the game.

I dont think levy gives a toss about any of us but he would look at the toxic fanbase, maybe people cancelling memberships and yes might decide to act on the back of It.

Nothing wrong with trying to make a difference to the club.

Hypothetical: Zidane sacked, Poch takes over, doen't extend our 1 year loan and recalls Bale, also buys Kane.

Is that Sol territory? :p

How dare you put this out in the world.

Now I gotta go get some sage to burn to counteract this evil. Thanks, Rob. :cautious:

I don't get why people worry about it. Do people seriously think Levy, for all his faults, is suddenly going to sign a deal that has Spurs taking it up the gary? Of course he isn't. He's never been a mug in that way so why insinuate that he'd sign off on a rotten deal, if he did things like that then what sort of father does that make him :sneaky:
I’m not sure why people are so confident about this. Maybe we just couldn’t pull together a package for more than the year given all the well-publicised complexities of the deal, and the Bale situation will be all up in the air again next summer.

If he's fit enough to feature in most games his long shots are going to be his most useful weapon. If we become lethal on the counter you'll start to see teams sitting back, and with his shooting at the edge of the area opponents will find it difficult to stop us that way as well. We've had plenty of games under Mourinho that have been reminiscent of games under Villas-Boas where we're chasing it but not getting anywhere with sideways possession, but Bale will help us to win points in these scenarios like he did 7 years ago, i've got no doubt.

Whatever the length of the deal is people are going to fixate on it and complain. The way I look at it is that if it's a one year loan, then there's some sort of financial flim-flammery going on which makes it a solution to issues that are way beyond our understanding and regardless of that, he'll still be here the year after anyway. It could be any number of things and right now, who really gives a shit. Sometimes we delve way too deeply into things.
I think the most important thing is that he wants to be here. He's already been there and done it at the highest level, so I doubt he's got the same motivation that say Kane has to really make a career for himself. I think he just wants to play and help us get over the line trophy wise tbh so i'm confident that he'll still be insistent on a stay next summer providing we still want him.

We just need to enjoy the moment. Fuck the numbers, this is the most I've been excited about football since 5 seconds before Moussa felt the need to point in our box.
