Purely talking as a football fan, I really don't care about the financials. That's not my remit. All that I wanna see in my lifetime is the joy of seeing my team winning things and the excitement of seeing the best possible players playing for my team.

So long as there's still a chance of us signing a true star of the game, I will I've in hope.

Would love Bale back for a number of reasons.

I don't know the specifics of the deal so I don't know if the 'best deal' for them to offer us is really the best deal for the club. Many ITKs have said, this deal will be very un-Levy because of, regardless of the price, it still is a risky decision.

If it turns out that the deal we would have had to agree to was, by all means, a great deal for a 600k a week player but still not entirely a great deal for us then maybe it's for the best.

If however, the deal is super reasonable and we are just trying to eek every penny out of it for the sake of it then that will definitely leave a sour taste in my mouth.

At most the deal is 15 million a year, I think the question is, will we ever be able to bring a player of bales quality for a better price? I'd say no, this is literally the peak of player quality to value. That's before we mention the huge morale boost it'd provide. I mean we're talking about balking at his wage demands yet we're happy to refuse Rose a squad number as he collects 85k a week.

I didn't know the monetary value of the deal has been reported.

I bet with every flick of the beans on your komboloi, every twirl, you're praying we sign Bale so you can lord it up on here :D
If we sign either Bale or one of our more exciting striker links (different posters have different preferences, mine are pretty obvious from the threads) or Bale and a more humdrum yet serviceable cheaper striker, I’ll be praising him for this window but in all honesty, the fact that our squad has deteriorated to the extent it has across the first xi (as per the Danny Kelly tweet) has made me lose some faith in DL. I don’t expect us to do what Chelsea have this summer, and I’m happy with what we’ve bought so far, but it’s a bit too little too late.

I would suggest that N’Dombele, Lo Celso, Doherty and Højbjerg could well evolve sufficiently into Dembele, Eriksen, Walker and Wanyama replacements, but if they can’t do so while our best striker since Greaves and arguably best player since Hoddle is in his pomp, then what’s the point?

No, we need to get these last bits of transfer business done sufficiently and then we need the season to go well, and that means silverware and not out of the title race by Christmas. I’ve been overly patient for too long and life’s too short.

He's on 600k and it's be widely reported Madrid are willing to cover 50%. so that works out about 15-16 mill for the year.

Mesut Ozil and Gareth Bale were press ganged into the Navy. After a few weeks at sea searching for the Spanish Fleet, they were sent up to the crows nest. After a couple of hours watching, Mesut Ozil calls out 'Spanish Galleon 345 miles off the port bow'

'Spanish Galleon 345 miles off the port bow' says the Captain, how can you tell? I can see them says Ozil, pointing at his big bug eyes.

'Yeah but how do you know it's Spanish?' says the Captain

"He can hear the fuckers talking" answers Ozil, pointing at Bales ears.

It's the old ones that are the worst. Sorry.

Add this to the list of players we could get but we don't. If we went out and strengthened other positions and this was a bonus id be happy, but just can't get past the fact that we've been here before.

Are you in this thread because the stirring of the masses is too much to pass up on or do you know something ...
