have 0 confidence we'll be able to sign him. reckon even if Levy's was willing to throw mad money for a 30+ year old player that hasn't played regularly in a while now, he'd most likely look into having injury clauses and can't see Gareth taking that sort of deal. personally I believe it's warranted and really not worth the investment. a few too many unknown variables to trigger it without some sort of fallback. as much as fans appreciate this core, Tottenham's is due for a small rebuild for 2 years or so already. squads get stagnant quickly nowadays, players constantly need new environments to evolve. now we'd look into bringing old faces? I just don't see it. Ndombele might not have worked out (yet) but that is how I see Tottenham taking the next step forward. bringing in experienced young talented players with upside and resell value. if we're gonna pay big bucks, gotta make it count not only now but in the near future.

IDK, They are super reputable for every other sport than soccer (don't kill me), BUT big but with soccer I think they are pretty meh and pretty much putting out any article they can period regardless of what it is

Wasn't there talk about Jose speaking to Bale earlier in the window? I'm sure he would love him but not going to be too public about it given how unlikely it is. ITK suggests that he has been realistic with his targets so Bale probably isn't one that he demands but would take him for sure.

I actually think the Man Utd link is likely coming from Real Madrid rather than anything to do with Sancho. Going by what Trix said, if Real Madrid and Bale are on board then I can see why they would link him to Utd to try and push Levy to get it done. I'm not sure what their squad is like but I guess they will want Bale out sooner rather than later and possibly free a spot for an incoming.

I think where we are at now we should be looking at signing experienced established match winners as well as talented young players. It seems like we need a balance of the two if we are serious about ever progressing beyond being the very good young team with potential that we were a few years ago. Although just getting back to that level now seems like a mountain!

In any case over the past couple of windows we have invested heavily in experienced younger players. In addition to Ndombele, we have signed Lo Celso, Bergwijn and Sessengon as well as the less experienced Clarke and Gedson. The signing of 28 year old outfield player in this window was a total outlier in terms of our transfer strategy of the last 10 years.

Bad news from Twitter = that's it, it's all over. Fuck Levy! Fuck Chirpy. Fuck everything and everyone!
