Villa are rumoured to have agreed a fee for him. Maybe we were waiting for another club to do so before swooping in. Avoid big club tax.

This is best signing for me. Young, homegrown and good back up to Kane. Also can play alongside Kane or off the wing.

Villa have also bid for Callum Wilson in recent days, which would indicate they aren’t as close as reported to signing Watkins or maybe we swooped in.

This is the link I've been hoping for. I honestly think this is best striker signing we could make with the limited budget we have. I know he comes with risks having not played in the prem, but he has everything in his game to succeed at this level.

If this interest is genuine, and we are up against Villa for his signiture, then that is a battle we should win, but it's not a given. They will offer him gararentted first team football, and working with Dean Smith again, who he has a great relationship with. Also money isn't going to be an issue for them with fees or wages.

Will be cup tied if he plays today for one of the cups but would still be excellent buy ticks all the boxes except for the price which Levy wont pay.
If we don’t win something this season I’m pretty sure Kane will be leaving to be honest. Part of the reason it makes more sense to me to go for a younger option who can have a year to acclimatise to the club

There are some “big” names being floated about with regards to the striker signing which I would be excited about but if we did sign Ollie Watkins I would be very very happy. He is a lovely player. Versatile, hungry, skilful, quick. Ooooo this would be exciting ...
