As long as Hojbjerg does want to come to us, and

Not every player will be there to light up the league. We need players to put in the work and get the best out of the likes of son and Kane.

Bingo.

Few great teams consist only of star players. Too much ego crowding out the dressing room. You need a core of solid, selfless players to find the right mix.

If we want to win the League and Champions League we need to start looking at players that will shine and at Kane's level. PEH is good but I think top teams in Champions League (which is what we want to be) would barely consider him for the bench. We need to raise our bar.
We don't have the funds for that this summer so there's very little point hoping for massive signings.

I dont know that much about him but great teams have workhorses in.

Wasn't that long ago that people thought Jordan Henderson was rubbish, people still do but look at that trophy cabinet. Could make a similar argument about wiljnadum actually.

I'm all for sensible signings that will let our attacking players shine.

Pretty sure he's played for Bayern in the Champions league?

Genuinely interested in who are Jose's targets this summer? Agreed that CDM was always going to be a priority.
But surely he must also consider the full back positions to be secondary priorities.
And then a potential back-up for Kane as tertiary.

If we were to start the new season with 4 new players in the aforementioned positions, then I'd consider that to be a resoundingly successful window. Caveat being, that at least three of those players needs to be able to slot into the starting XI immediately.

It has been mentioned that Cirkin will be promoted to LB next season and since it's unlikely we'll ditch Davies, we could be looking at only one fullback (RB).

Then there's a back up for Kane and a CB.

And I guess we can see if any deals present themselves.

Very true. Wouldn't be surprised if there are a few unexpected deals that emerge outta the blue. As it's going to be a highly unusual window. As I've noted before, I think there will be an emphasis on loans, swap deals, and paying in installments. Gonna be really interesting.

As for Cirkin... guess he'll be given time during the pre-season to see if he has what it takes. Guess the saving grace, is that LB isn't an emergency issue. So, Jose can be patient. And if by the start of the season he feels only Davies is up for it, then at least they will have 3 to 4 weeks to nail down a deal for a new LB.

I think we’ll sign this player whether many rate him on here or not. Be prepared to see some pretty ordinary players bought - hard working and capable but not spectacular. Mourinho has his flair players, he’s now building his team. This signing is literally pivotal so we might actually end up paying close to the asking price.

By all accounts, this bloke is a natural leader both on and off the pitch. That, and the fact that we've been crying out for a DM for ages, makes me quite excited about this signing.
Not to mention the fact that Jose wants him!
