we don't loan unless Lorente type back up goalieI don't see what loans fix when you witness what happened last night. What do we do when they all expire and Levy can't afford to make them permanent?
Players who come on loan may enjoy the experience and wish to stay. Loans maybe are for two seasons, not one. By next summer, we may have a season of revenue from the stadium to use in the market, so can buy replacements.I don't see what loans fix when you witness what happened last night. With options to buy, yes. Current 5 starters for Wolves was loaned to them firstHearing that we are going to be looking at loans has got to be positive right? I wasn’t expecting much at all, but loans at least gives a bit of hope.
Plus we are very much in limbo at the moment. The idea of loans should please those who only want or think that Jose will be here for a couple of seasons at best as whoever comes in down the line can then rebuild their own team. Otherwise, if Jose proves a success (yes, big if I know) then fewer people will be complaining anyway and we might even start to see the extra revenue feeding into the transfer budget.Players who come on loan may enjoy the experience and wish to stay. It’s a short term fix that a lot of clubs will have to do. But there could be long term benefits.
Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time.Anyone know how many loan deals a club are allowed etc?
I think that increasing the loans will probably go to a vote. Do all clubs have to agree when issues are put to a vote at premier league meetings?Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time.
The maximum number of loans registrable in the same season is four, and, under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time.
(Wouldn’t be shocked if they increased it though)
Just a majority I think, think that’s what it was when the extra subs were introducedI think that increasing the loans will probably go to a vote. Do all clubs have to agree when issues are put to a vote at premier league meetings?
I really don’t think we need to think about that now, he won’t be going anywhereThanks for the info.
Regarding Mourinho, if he does go to a Madrid or whoever, who will we realistically bring in? I think Levy has made our bed for the foreseeable and we now just need to give Mourinho his tools to see if he can be effective next season.
Loans, with a few permanent signings like Højbjerg, will be more business that anticipated. Hopefully, Mendes can throw us a bone or two...
I guess that makes sense otherwise nothing would ever get done!Just a majority I think, think that’s what it was when the extra subs were introduced
I don’t know how others feel but our scouting network doesn’t fill me with confidence at present. The problem with the loan market is that you are likely to get players that aren't quite cutting it at the top clubs. We've seen with Aurier and Lucas that didn't quite work out so well for us.
If we are smart we might get some good ones, like Kovacic and Ceballos mentioned above. I suppose Coutinho and Luka Jovic are some potentially exciting ones.
We'll probably end up losing Ndombele on loan to Barca in exchange for cast offs like Umtiti and Semedo however.
To be honest I'd rather see us try our luck scouting cheaper options right now, there would be less complaints of 'no ambition' this summer. Try and tap up the likes of RB Salzburg for signings like the Bundesliga clubs do. There is a pretty strong production line across Europe. Especially in full back and DM, skill sets should be more comparable regardless of opposition quality than in attacking areas.

Can we swap Jose for him? From a loan perspective who's that no.11 at Madrid who's not getting much game time at present?
Well the Grealish link is a definite. I guess that saying that it’s maybe a bit of a generalisation to say that the scouting isn’t great because it’s a little more nuanced than that. It’s a question of how early are they being spotted and how specific is the scouting in terms of what we need. You mentioned opportunistic and that is a fair observation. For example: Jack Clarke - I wonder how long he was scouted for as so far he doesn’t seem any great shakes.I'm not quite sure on that, there have been plenty of players we have tracked in the past (should ITK be believed) that would be ideal for us now:-
Ricardo Pereira
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Harry Maguire
Jack Grealish
James Maddison
Alassane Plea
Can't remember if ITK or media linked us with Kalvin Phillips but he'd walk into our CM right now too.
I feel we favour opportunistic deals that don't quite fit what we need, and surely that is what this loan market will be. Mendes/Zahavi may help us here, but Mendes might end up helping Wolves out more if they make Europe ahead of us.

Loans might help with some players, but hopefully we can get some players from lesser clubs through swapping some of our dross and squad players and chucking in some loans for our youth players too.The problem with the loan market is that you are likely to get players that aren't quite cutting it at the top clubs.
