for those having problems on iPlayer. Go to settings and then go standard definition. It stops freezing all the time.

You’re welcome.

I've been really underwhelmed by Lucas for sometime.

Not a good enough starter for us when everyone is fit, that's for sure.

Good solid first 30 then we kind of let Norwich back into it. Like us to play with a bit more authority when going a goal up .

Dier having a good game. Lo Celso is magic don’t you know!

Should’ve Scored Moura, Krull having one of those games

Gosh we would be shit without Lo Celso, only flair player we have atm, genuinely can't remember Alli doing one thing well?

The people sitting behind me haven’t stopped moaning all game. It’s the same every week. The match thread isn’t a patch on these tossers

I think Skipp's ceiling is a lot higher than Winks'.

He's better defensively - both reads the game better and is more tenacious and good in the tackle - but is also braver and more direct with his passes going forward.

I know it's just Norwich, but simply having a tenacious hard worker covering the space and putting in tackles is making a big difference. I hope this match is his breakthrough under Jose.

(and no this isn't kneejerk - he was easily our best player in preseason and he was also good last season when he felt confident)

Honestly think that wasn't a bad half. Under some pressure but mostly dealt with (by our standards) .
We legitimately could have had 3, the counter attacking was solid.

Good solid start to the game and we deserved to be a couple of goals ahead. Some decent play in all areas. Sure they came alive the last ten minutes but hopefully we will kick on after the break as make the game safe.

We'll concede a goal but probably score another one, Vertonghen looks quick again and he is doing well on the left side, Skipp looks solid, Lo Celso is man-marked by one of their players which is giving him some troubles but he's doing well overall. Need more quality from front 3.

I wonder how many people's perception of that half are coloured by the very norwich cheerleading commentary.

We should be at very least 2 up.

loving Lo Celso. Skipp looking good. even Dier hasn’t had a brain fart yet. can’t complain too much at that first 45 imo.

Skip has been brilliant so far, can see we are much tighter as a unit with a defensive minded midfielder in the mix.

Dier has played well at the back.
Verts has scored a goal but not done much else.
Winks is not looking great and I would hook him off in the second half
Skipp has anticipated play well and has provided some energy in the middle.
Lo-Celso MVP.
Alli, Bergwijn and Moura can't hold the ball up.

Alli's form is worrying. He's slowing it down every time and he's not even retaining the ball when he does.

More of the same really. Patches of the game where we're on top and looking pretty decent and secure, but then we have patches where we meander along, look shaky, and cant play football.

Gotta say I think a lot of that has been down to our attacking midfield trio. They've had some nice moments/touches, but increasingly as that half has gone on they've fucked around with the ball a lot and not made the most of a ton of time and space. They have also not been diligent in getting back in/dropping onto a flank in front of their fullback. So we end up yet again trying to defend with half a dozen, back four plus cm2 trying their best to shuffle across and cover gaps, and as we keep seeing it's really hard to defend this way these days against PL teams who all have a bit of quality and can hurt you.

Made up for Verts. Just shows the mans character. Brilliant that it was him who scored. His celebration never gets old.
