got a feeling we're going to have a whole summer of Dele kicking off trying to leave
Hopefully. To be quite frank I think the bloke is a complete Richard and I think most other fans agree too, there’s a reason why he gets booed at virtually every away ground in the PL.

would love us to move him on, but doubt it will happen as we have too many other issues.

Think we should look to cash in while he still holds some decent value - anything over £50m to fund summer transfers.

I just don't think he offers much at all anymore and really cramps our play with his dawdling, slow decision-making and lack of pace. I understand he's putting more effort in now and genuinely trying, but the player of two years ago is gone and he's not coming back.

Please do, that'd be fucking priceless.

Give over, you'll be all over Winks again soon haha.

Dele this year alone hasn't done wrong by either manager when they have played him.

Is he utterly clear of any criticism, nope, but the pathetic witch hunt on here by people who just repeat the same tired old shit when he is about as average as the majority of the other players out there after a game like the one just played is theatre.
It’s not a witch hunt, the guy is overrated and a bit of a Richard.

Don’t think he enjoyed our style of play while he was on, no one plays football as a kid to play that way.

Well may they should. People are forgetting that this is well oiled and extremely dangerous side whom are fighting for the Bundesliga title. They recently held their own against Bayern Munich... you know, the team that absolutely destroyed us on our own patch. May be if we had a full strength team we could have gone toe to toe with them.

Davies made a fatal mistake and offered nothing going forward, Aurier went full bipolar in the 1st half and our forward players were still on their mid winter break for the 1st 70 mins.

You could see the player fatigue... Moura pulling up with cramp... our players are knackered and/or carrying knocks. Asking them to play fast aggressive football wasn’t going to happen, especially when they played in a hard fought victory only a few days ago and have an immensely important game coming up at the weekend against Chelsea.

As for Alli, he’s morphing into Eriksen... poor work ethic, stupid flicks, refusal to use his left foot and constantly giving the ball away. He’s heading very much in the direction of Ross Barkley... bundles of talent but for what ever reason(s) his form has fell off the edge of cliff. Keep this up and the once England regular won’t even make the Euro’s squad cut.

To be fair to Dele I did feel he was a little unlucky to be hauled off this time. Could easily have been Moura or even Bergwijn instead. Certainly couldn't knock his effort levels today. I'm sure he'll start on Saturday, not fussed about the hissy fit at all.

didnt do anything but the tactics didnt suit him at all. was never going to outrun the defenders on those long balls like Moura and Bergwijn occasionally did.

I genuinely like Alli. I like that he is a bit different. He has a bit of an edge which I love. And on song he is a very special football player. He is what I would call a killer. He reminds me of the good Thomas Muller. Unfortunately right now he reminds me of the bad Thomas Muller as well. Works hard, but what does he contribute with? Currently among our worst players. We cannot go in to next season with Alli as a given starter. I hope he proves me wrong, but we cannot be this reliant on Alli in his current state.

At this point with Son and Kane out I wonder if it's best to make Dele our striker. If he doesn't score he's not contributing much from deep, so why not push him right up to give him more chance of scoring. He can focus on making off the ball runs to get on the end of crosses and passes played in behind rather than trying to make them for someone else. Lucas is a good dribbler so I'd rather he be the guy a bit deeper to lead a counter-attack with Dele in front rather than the other way round.

Maybe the derision Alli receives is as a result of people expecting more based on his past exploits, the fact that he can play much better, and is a top player when on his game.

Why do some of our other players not get the same amount of criticism levelled at them. It points to expectations of not expecting the same level of performance from them in comparison to Alli.

Are players escaping criticism because they're deemed average in any case, therefore expectations are lower in comparison.

It certainly comes across this way.

Lots of our players appear to be underperforming week on week of late. But Alli is constantly at the forefront of the flak received.

Yes Alli can play better. But so can the majority of the players I see on a weekly basis.

I find the fact that Alli gets so much more stick than others laughable. Stick because he can be top drawer when on his game, others escaping because they're not at the same level when on their game thus expectations lower.

Many are underperforming, and I agree it's fine to want more. Just because other players might not be considered as good as Alli when all on song, should not see them offered a free pass regarding criticism.

Team game.

You defendeth Dele too much!! Aurier, Dier, Foyth, Lamela, Davies, Moura and even Ndombele get their fair share of criticism. I do not see any of them throwing a strop when appropriately substituted.

Playing without our 2 main strikers and then removing our only remaining regular goalscorer did seem strange, plus it meant Lo Celso being pushed out wide which was also strange.

My post has nothing to do with his "strop". That doesn't bother me at all. I want players to be pissed off if they feel they shouldn't have been subbed. Points to them caring, and hopefully ignites a fire for them to seek improvement.

And yes, some other players do receive criticism, but I'd suggest not at the same level as Alli constantly this season.

Take Moura for example, few games he's worked his arse off and tracked back to get tackles in. Has he really excelled, has he endured the same level of criticism. No.

Match thread aside, Alli seems to be the go-to thread on most match days. Fine if he's played crap, but for me, many others are playing crap also but hardly get a mention, if at all.

I'm still of the belief he's become the scapegoat based on the fact that he can be so good, and probably a level ahead than many others but is underperforming. (y)

It's not even about defending him. It's more about recognising that plenty are playing well below par, but escape the same level of criticism.

Lol. #spreadtheshit
