yep. the problem though, when he runs he gets to a point where he has no options because there is no focal point up front, and Lucas has no idea of the runs to make. and i’m not even sure where Son is supposed to be.

We are our worst enemy again, Sanchez gifting them 2 chances in a row, Aurier with his special to gift a penalty, even Winks had that non-chalant pass, it's like they think they are playing a friendly match vs some league one team not City with plenty of players in good form. Very impressed with GLC, Lloris and Tanganga, front 3 all shit which is especially disappointing since Laporte isn't playing. We need one of them getting red carded, don't think we had a shot on goal and I doubt we don't see more brainfarts from our team.

He did have a choice to not make a tackle at all, Aguero was going away from goal.

People are obsessing too much about the "quality" required for that position. We clearly need someone who can hold the ball up and win flick ons. I'd take Andy fucking Carroll. Its not even just that but if we had someone doing that we could let Lucas and Son do what they do best which is linking with the forwards. Basically all I'm saying is we are crippling 2 players by not playing to their strengths.

For 4 months whilst Kane is out literally anyone we could have signed would be better doing that role other than Lucas Moura. Even Benteke! That's how much of a fuck up it is.

If we're going to play as a counter attacking side we need to massively improve our passing under pressure, though. We've wasted so many opportunities today and you just can't afford to give the ball away cheaply against a side like City.

I don't think we've been good defensively for that reason though. Opening yourself up to counter press is no good. Sanchez just inaccurate and Toby just seems too slow to run with the ball anymore so he just hoofs it. With Aguero and other small players for City I think Foyth may have been better suited for this game, even if he has got a rash challenge in him.

So you know when you lunge in and make a stupid tackle. It is silly especailly when its your first game. But when you are still doing it after the 100th game then there is clearly something wrong with you. Ffs.
