Mourinho has said it he wants a no9. So, lets be clear he will go for a no9 in summer. IMO, the options we have this Jan is piss poor. Top Clubs dont want to spend on avg would rather wait for summer. Thats why even United & Chelsea are not making a move now.

I wanted us to go for Alcacer but again all 3 clubs are not touching him like Piatek.

Question is, do we have to panic buy now ?

I dont think we should.

Anyone here having a go at us not signing a striker, dont come out & say who they want is a good striker & is "realistic" to get. I dont want a Cavani thrown around, he is on 250k a week after tax with 12m fee . - never happening.

Unless we get a sugar daddy owner, its pointless to be frustarted that we didnt buy a striker now.

Our Jan record for last 6 years is just 2 signings in total. So by that standards, we have done so well this time around.

Not signing a striker this window will have implications on where we end up in the league, so the board only have themselves to blame when we don’t reach our goals.

Jose shouldn’t be faced with questions when the same problems reoccur of failing to score goals regularly, because he’s known from the beginning we need a Striker to fit his style of play.

If there is no one available of suffucient quality then why are the board to blame?

We can’t keep using that excuse every time, it’s only going to be worse in the Summer when Kane is fit & we have to splash the cash for someone of quality just to sit on the bench

This isn't the first window by any stretch that we could have bought a back up striker, running Kane into the ground was always going to be a risky move bordering on sheer negligence. People would peobably give the board a bit more leeway if they hadn't allowed this squad to stagnate in the way that it has.

Not really what I said though, was it?
Okay. I'll just not read his stuff ergo I won't have to laugh at him not getting it wrong thus meaning I don't end up in a conversation with zero point.

Indeed. I’d have a bit more understanding if we were just unlucky in that all our CF’s got injured during the window, but the truth is we created this mess by not having a back up. And then the dumb decision not to replace Llorente.

And seeing as we created it then we should have the responsibility of fixing it. Even if that means digging a bit deeper into our pockets for once.

That would be on par with getting Benteke as far as I’m concerned. He’s too static.
Llorente has played with that limitation his whole career though where as players like Benteke and Giroud are getting less and less mobile/agile and may never adapt to that limitation.

This window is a great test of how reliable The Athletic is regarding transfers. So far, not so good!
He has gotten some stuff right probably, he had to do a U-turn yesterday afternoon then kept tweeting to clarify stuff.

Why is the board to blame? We bought Janssen and Llorente previously. How do you know Poch wasn't happy to go into this season as Son/Moura as backup?

What excuse? I'm asking a question.

I’m referring to the notion that “there is no one available of sufficient quality”, falling back on that as a reason for not securing a Striker this window is just poor.

The situation in the Summer will just be worse for the board because they will have to stump up even more money for someone of ‘sufficient quality’ to just sit on the bench (which I doubt they will)

Cavani - A lister but 32
Jose - Z lister but 28

people complain Cavani is too old but sanction moves for Llorente (35), Giroud (33), Mertens (32), some even wanted Ibrahimovic before he went to Milan and what’s he, 38?

Paying Kane level wages for quality for 18-24 months is a dam sight less risky than paying a fee and/or still reasonably high wages for dross.
Carvani lots of injuries recently?
