He must have gone purely for money, as having Ashley Young, Victor Moses and Lukaku as team mates is hardly a step up in quality..
On lower wages than he turned down from us by the looks of things (£135k , £200k) and Inter are a massive club with a massive stadium, multiple European honours (including a Champions League title in living memory) who have a decent shot at winning Serie A this season.

Thanks for everything Christian. On his day he's one of the best playmakers in world football, intelligent and technically superb.

Unfortunately the last year or so is what will be etchesd into my memory. He may have been professional in his conduct but he'd signed out in his mind a long time ago.

Didn't realise how much he looked like Jay from the Inbetweeners when he first joined.

A move I can respect. Not for money. He just wanted to leave London and seek a new challenge, which is fair enough. He made it clear from the beginning and there's nothing wrong with a player not wanting to stay for reasons such as that.

He was an excellent and important player for us over a number of years. Yes, it didn't end like either of us would have liked, however I hope there's a mutual respect and love for the memories shared over the years.

I personally wish him all the luck in the world and I really mean it.

Difficult to evaluate how much "respect" we should have showed him in my opinion. If the rumours are true that he played us this summer then I can see why we are doing the way we did.

Generally speaking though I think we could handle exits better. It can never hurt having former players still liking the club. 15 years form now a young talented Danish player might get in touch with Eriksen to ask how playing for Spurs was....

The guy was immense for us when motivated and in form - proper world class.

Shame about the last year or so but I will always have a soft spot for him even though I definitely think this was the right move for both parties.

End of an era, beginning of a new one. Sad to see band break up, but it's exciting to see what will happen next. Fingers crossed we get the rebuild spot on and start to put serious pressure back on the top of the table again. COYS!

I think that's the reason why he was never truly regarded as world class. Capable of the world class and actual world class are world aparts.

Too bad he couldn't be arsed playing for us for the last 18 months.

One of the best players to play for Spurs in the 21st century when on form and motivated though.

Enjoyed having him for the most part, as he did score some crucial free kicks for us, but I'm so tired of the links surrounding him and especially his limp corner kicks right into the first defender that I'm honestly pleased to see this done.

Good luck to him, but I hope we can actually get some corners into the six yard box moving forward.

Prepared for a plethora of negative ratings for this, but I always said asking the Premier League to award *that* goal against Stoke to Harry Kane in April 2018 when it had been given as Eriksen's was a stupid idea and would be a serious kick in the teeth to Eriksen, and I stand by that.

Whose goal it actually was is irrelevant and I've no interest in debating it. It's unheard of for a club to try and get a goal taken off one of their own players, and for good reason.

I'm not pinpointing that as the moment his motivation and performances took a downturn... I'm saying it may not be a coincidence that that's around the same time his obvious decline in wanting to be here began.

I'm not sad he's gone, he didn't want to be here, and so it's best he be allowed to leave. But I'm sad it ended the way it did, because for such a long time he was my favourite Spurs player.
