A lot of these Leceister comments have a weird deja vu about them. Not saying they will continue this form throughout but without Europe and with the good feeling around their club, can we really write them off?

I think that Chelsea are the ones to catch. I'm not being disingenuous when I say this, I think that of all the clubs in that group they are the ones with the biggest chance to wobble. Lampard is doing a great job, but as with Ajax last year, there will be times where game management and player psychology will be a factor. If they lose a couple and they start looking back, then things could change.

City are too strong to drop down, I cannot see that happening, whilst Leicester are grinding out results. Rodgers knows how to use Vardy and like the year Leicester won the league, teams are going to keep forgetting about the deadly counter attacks they can put together.

I do think that it is too much to hope for, but that is the only way I can see us getting there this year.

Chelsea are too open at the back. They'll have more results like the one v Sheffield United where conceding one or two they shouldn't kills them. Making a UCL run will hurt them (if they manage it).

Leicester have the best "finishing luck" (in terms of goals scored v expected goals scored) in the league, and are totally reliant on Vardy and Maddison in attack - an injury to either would be hugely problematic for them.

It's still very early in the season, and not a huge amount of points to overturn. Frankly surprised at the negativity here.

They had this luck and lack of injuries when they won the title. I think they are better than the title winning team. Maddison and Tielemans are quality.

I have watched numerous Leicester games this season. I have no problem in saying they will get top4. Their XI is so settled. The core of their XI is rock solid and has what it takes for a sustained top4 finish.

Just look at their goal difference, highest in league.
Defense has only conceded 8 goals in 13 games. Again best defense in league. We have already conceded 19

Anyone downplaying or ruling them out is only kidding themselves.

Our race is clear cut for me. We fight Chelsea for top4 for now. If we go on a run and if Leicester stumble then there is a chance to beat them. For now there is no evidence of it

Every top 4 challenger has better DM and FBs, couple of signings in January and we can do it if key players stay healthy.
City and Liverpool aside, we have a better CB paring than both and a forward line with a potential for more goals. It’s attainable.

He's 33 in January, how much longer can he play at this level?
He was a late bloomer, didn't play at a decent level before he was 25, so he might well be able to go for a couple more years.

But he's someone that solely relies on pace, once that starts to go I'm not sure what else he offers?

Look at Jan, last year he tore Dortmund apart as a WB, not sure what happened over the summer but him losing a yard has affected him massively and he was someone that didn't rely on it.

Losing a yard or 2 can happen suddenly for a player of Vardy's age

Relies on pace though. And I don't see him adapting to a playmaker-type.

My personal take on the race for the Champions League places, in my own unique words:

"It's very, very easy to say: title? Impossible. 4th position? Very, very, VERY difficult. Play game, improve, better team, more happiness, more smiling, more confidence. Jose, step by step, trying to introduce his, his ideas and trying to improve the, the team, and let's see where, er, we are in two or three months. And then we will see what we can do until the end of the season."

Yep, for sure we go for Europa first. Be there then if someone (Chelsea or Leicester) wobbles. That’s the target so long as we first consolidate on top half lol.

I can't see Europa being an option as we will in all likelihood wrap up second place on Tuesday.

I will never write them off, at least not any time soon.

I think it’ll be very difficult as Chelsea and Leicester both look in great shape. It is a long season though, so who knows how pressure or fatigue will affect them at the business end of the season.

We were in the title race this time last year, but completely collapsed in the final third of the season. Chelsea or Leicester could do the same, even if they look very strong currently.

We still have to play Chelsea twice, win those two games and we are only 3 points behind - I know that we hardly have the best record at Stamford Bridge, but I know a man who does ;) There are going to be plenty of twists yet this season, although I agree that it is Chelsea we are most likely to overtake.

Six points back of Chelsea with 24 matches to play. Still plenty to be worried about given the final 20 minutes of the past two league matches, but I trust Jose to sort that out. Mourinho has breathed new life into Dele, Aurier, and Alderweireld (not to mention Eriksen whose hour against Olympiakos was the best he's played in two seasons) and we've only just begun to integrate the new signings. Sort out the defensive midfield in January and I see no reason why we shouldn't be competitive for fourth place.

And some of us forget we have played Liverscum, City, Manure, Arsenal and Leicester ALL AWAY with Manure to go away from home... we also have to play chelsea twice...

So i think our form whilst poor it also resulted from us playing so many of the teams away from home...
