Interesting stat, but not sure it’s that surprising when you consider he’s been here 5 or 6 seasons and before that Sherwood was only here 6 months and AVB only a couple of seasons ( one of which was the Bale superman show). The rest was Redknapp

Agree. Thought it reel the out-ers in, in a fit of rage.

For reference our last 10 seasons are below so when you exclude Pochs first season, the extra 5ish points a season are basically the difference between 5th and CL football so probably as you'd expect.

18/19. 71 points. Poch
17/18 77 points. Poch
16/17 86 points. Poch
15/16 70 points. Poch
14/15 64 points. Poch
13/14 69 points. AVB/ Sherwood
12/13 72 points. AVB
11/12 69 points. Redknapp
10/11 62 points. Redknapp
09/10 70 points. Redknapp

It's certainly not a statistic that supports the superlatives though. None of the previous 5 had a striker as prolific as Kane, which makes it all the more surprising

True, but on the flip side although the squad is/has been excellent we haven’t had the likes of Bale/Modric/VDV either.

I was thinking earlier, we were hardly shit before he came. What he did do in his first 4 years was make us proud of a club who'd sunk to the bottom under sherwood. After him, Poch was such a breath of fresh air. He's tried to turn the club into one that has a different mentality and I think he has succeeded. Trouble is, the bad results for most of this year, fans are now expectant, on the back of becoming a champions league club and the new stadium, none of us want to go backwards and it feels like we are.

We have peaked under Poch, end of
We have peaked with this squad under Poch.
That squad was good enough to win the league, but never did, but we did reach the CL final, maybe that was the reward for that team, and the club?
Time for a new squad.

Proven track record, able to work within a budget and tactically astute

People keep talking about Mourinho, but he's a manager that needs a budget and control

Benitez anyone? Think he's much more of a fit for Levy and our (realistic) budget and Levy's desire to balance the books

He's in China getting paid big money, he's not coming back

Either way it's a no from me, doesn't have the personality for a big club anymore.

I actually wanted Benitez before we appointed Poch ( not that I’m suggesting we made the wrong choice). And as I’ve already said, after working with Ashley he’d probably jump at the chance to come to us.

16/17 season still leaves me so bittersweet. That would have won the EPL 11 times in other seasons. Timing is everything I suppose
