Woahhhh!!!! Be very careful, I haven't named any player and for very good reason. Speculating is one thing turning it into fact is another entirely.
sorry will amend but based on your comment felt it could only be one

Need to delete yours to Trix. ?. Both.Woahhhh!!!! Be very careful, I haven't named any player and for very good reason. Speculating is one thing turning it into fact is another entirely.
The fact that he hasn't scored many in open play is synonymous with the way Spurs have been playing in the last year or so and it shows, anyway I think you're being harsh if you are just reducing his game to just tap ins and pens, his all round play has improved, his passing, his awareness, hold up play etc...the ball he played for Rose for Son's goal on Wednesday for example, these things tend to go unnoticed, it's in fact a lazy/ignorant analysis which is typical from a rival fan.
I said he resembles much closer to that description of a tap in/pen striker because rival fans used it when he was the total opposite. From 2015-18 he was a bulldozing striker who bullied defenders, created chances for himself and others, had a sharp turn of pace and didn't need a second invitation to fire off a snapshot.
Back then he was an all round footballer.
I wholeheartedly disagree that he has improved while his goals have gone down. He's not playing like Firmino who still is a dominating forward despite not scoring much. He's not scoring as many goals in part due to the lack of service from others and that he can't create chances for himself anymore. This is a guy who used to take 5/6/7 shots a game at times because he could force it himself but these days barely threatens the goalkeeper from open play. His shots per game stats prove this:
League only:
2014/15 - 3.3 SPG
2015/16 - 4.2 SPG
2016/17 - 3.7 SPG
2017/18 - 5.0 SPG
2018/19 - 3.6 SPG
2019/20 - 2.7 SPG
Now this drop off no doubt has a correlation with his ankle injuries affecting his mobility. It makes it harder for others to set him up if he can no longer make the same runs as he used to at the same intensity. It makes it easier for defenders to mark him. It makes it harder for him to just take a touch and fire from range.
Taking that into account you have to then start questioning (in my opinion at least) if his undroppable tag is deserved. Kane was never a speedy player but he had enough speed to work with and use to full effect. If he's lost that speed then it's harder for him to drag CBs apart because he's a classical striker, not like the versatile wide forwards like City and Liverpool play with. In that case we have games like yesterday or like Watford or like Newcastle where while he's not the biggest problem, he still is a problem. Against sides that park the bus you need to disorganise them through quick movement and passing and if Kane can't move quick and if his first thought is to draw fouls then we'll never have a good enough tempo to break them down early in games. And the longer games deadlocked the more confident the opposition is.

Yeah he's lost mobility and speed but other parts of his game has improved making him more of a complete striker, the difference now is that we're struggling to create chances for him, yesterday he had 11 touches of the ball at HT which tells you all you need to know.
Now match those SPG with the chances created by the team over the same period and you'll see a similar decline.
wonder if it would be smart in those games to put Moura up top, drop Kane into an attacking mid role, GLC on and Son coming in from the flanks and Ndombele and an in form Winks in the middle....of course would need some quality from full back
How can someone be a complete striker if they touch the ball eleven times in one half? To me that sounds like like Defoe who was rendered useless if others couldn't get it up to him.
My point is Kane was a complete striker. He was no way near as reliant on other people to provide for him pre-2018. If anything we used to be too reliant on him. Since that Bournemouth injury he has gradually tailed off since to this version of Kane who is barely getting a kick never mind a shot.
To be honest I'm a bit tired of having a designated attacking mid role. Whether it's Eriksen or Alli or Kane, I'd rather try and emulate Liverpool and have a three man midfield who provide a foundation for a hard working and speedy three man attack.

? Because the ball isn't getting to him, players aren't picking him out at the rate they once were, are you saying that he should go hunting for the ball himself, do you want him coming into midfield and picking the ball up in non threatening areas? A complete striker doesn't mean how many touches you have of the ball it means your all round game is top notch.
The difference is simple, back when we were actually good, we played as a team and our football was decent Kane was involved more as we kept the ball up the pitch more, now we aren't anywhere near that level and our football is slow and ponderous therefore certain players are always going to suffer as a result. There's no science to it, we've dropped off in an attacking sense and therefore this has affected Kane.
the press used to start with him, Alli and Eriksen....

We’ve needed proper cover/ alternative option up top for years. But we make do with our wide options. We are proper tight fuckers really. One fucking proper striker. Top 4 team? Absolute bollocks. How can someone be a complete striker if they touch the ball eleven times in one half? Look at his press on the Sheffield United goal he barely broke out of a jog.
To give him the benefit of the doubt though I think he is still carrying the effects of last week but we've definitely seen this before.
Tbh I don't understand why he wasn't subbed for Lucas earlier.
More so in Poch's alternate universe of ideal fitness. Our current game play does not require an Iron Man triathlon kind of fitness. Their heads and mental state are just not screwed right on to be motivated enough to run the extra mile.wondering if Alli's hammies, Kane's injuries and Eriksens (not sure what) have caused the prob
