The main points in the article by Jason Burt (Chief Football Correspondent) regarding Eriksen and Atletico Madrid:

"Tottenham Hotspur have held talks with Atletico Madrid over the sale of Christian Eriksen. It is understood that the 27-year-old Dane would prefer a move abroad and, in particular, to Spain.

Manchester United have backed away from making an offer for Eriksen and called a halt to talks in the belief that he had his sights set elsewhere.

Spurs’ discussions with Atletico over Eriksen initially took place during the Spanish club’s successful negotiations to sign Kieran Trippier for an initial £20 million.

There is an expectation in Spain that Atletico may revive their interest once the transfer window closes in England at 5pm on Thursday. That may bring down Eriksen’s price with the Spanish window not closing until the start of September."

I'm starting to believe in the almighty cloud god because I told a few people I thought Simeone was our last hope of getting him out.

If I was CE I'd also want to move to the city of Madrid. Manc is no Madrid.

Based on the number of spelling variants I've seen for Lo Celso, Fernandes, and Coutinho I feel very confident that we've identified proper replacements for Cristian Erikson.

AKA Google Play Services which, by default, has your mobile microphone on and listens to everything!

He was on an outgoing contract ... reminds me of a similar situation, can´t just grasp what it is - it keeps eluding me. :cautious:

At least he publicly stated that he would sign a new contract if his move didn't go through as he wanted Ajax to get some dosh.

Goes against a lot of the ITK and paper talk we've had all summer.

Would be bitterly disappointing.

We need to ADD quality.
Bring this here cos ITK thread is stacked.

I think we are trying to improve. The point is we have money for one big player as it stands. If Eriksen was sold, we would then have two.

Eriksen hasn't gone yet and spending that money when it doesn't exist isn't wise. Not to mention he may not actually leave this window if he truly kicks up a fuss and demands just Real.

We're trying, but there are limits..three 50 plus signings without a departure seems beyond that. Righty so.

Just a wee update regarding Christian Eriksen's situation.
It seems the Tottenham midfielder has his heart set on "a new challenge abroad" and hasn't restricted himself to La Liga.
So could he end up in Italy?

Hmm if only there was a super club in Italy that we may or may not be negotiating with at this very moment ...

Selling CE abroad is the ideal scenario. With that said, would Levy gamble and spend the CE transfer money as any deal for Eriksen will most likely wait until after the British deadline?

If I were Eriksen I'd definitely see Atletico Madrid as a sideways step, but probably his only remaining option now...

There is only one place for Eriksen to go on Earth.
China.
BTW they have something in common He reminds me of fine China, exquisite but easily broken

Selling Eriksen, CCV, Onomah and Wanyama could net us Lo Celso/Sessegnon. Feel like that is really important; hope we can make it happen. Would give us the flexibility we need to make a push for Dybala or Fernandes.

Sideways step but different lifestyle. I imagine he's wanted to live and play in Spain for some time.
