£30 million just seems wrong for a player of his ability.

But if he's truly set on winding down his contract I'd take £40-50 mil in a heartbeat.

Just not sure who's going to pay it this summer.
It depends on our budget, other targets, etc etc but if I personally was the manager I’d want him gone as I’d only want to work with players who were 100% committed to the cause simple as that. If he stays he has to sign a new contract to show that commitment, if he doesn’t then we have to sell him now, absolutely no point keeping a player for a year who’s not 100% committed who can then leave on a free the following summer, especially not one who is of high value, Toby is older and is a defender so that situation is a bit different. Also Toby seems more committed but has just been badly advised, erisken wants a ‘step up’ fair enough I don’t blame him at all but for everyone’s best interests I’d sell him at the best possible price if that is £30mil then so be it, we should’ve managed this situation earlier and better, now we are very much over a barrel.

The whole thing is very odd. If RM don't want him, where could he go? But if he wants to see out his contract and get a bigger deal next summer, doesn't seem like there is much we can do? We cant force him to move to a club that he doesn't fancy joining.
We could send him to China. ?

Either information is not getting put out correctly (we want both) or we plan to leave ourselves short.

You think Levy is the best for us when it comes to transfers?

Alllriiiiighty then - im out

You were dealing with the person that turned aggresively on Poch, and slated him during beginning of last season at every opportunity when people were criticizing Levy for the lack of players he had available.
He is the undoubted leader of the BSoDL.
You can't reason with him most of the time, he supports DLFC not THFC.

As much as I want to believe that we want both, we have never not left ourselves short, we always have 1 target that we just couldn't get over the line despite the apparent intentions of the club. Now I'm not sure if they do it on purpose or it's through leaving everything to the last minute but I struggle to believe we will change the habit of a lifetime.

I hope and pray it’s the first.

Spurs aren’t going to make it known to journalists that we plan on buying both, it makes us weaker in negotiations so that is probably a deliberate steer

I guess if we maintain it's a case of either/or then we can use it as leverage on pricing in negotiations with both.

I said what I think, that accusing him of fucking around is ridiculous.

Could there be better people to conduct our transfers? Probably. He’s definitely not great at getting things done. However, as an overall chairman I think he’s by far the best in the league, none of the others even come close, and people should show a bit of respect for what he’s done for this club.

Mate he's not really mad at Levy, just in his eyes Eriksen can do no wrong and it's everybody elses fault that Eriksen won't sign a new deal and people can't accept that maybe Eriksen just wants to leave. If we signed players It'd be the clubs fault for forcing Eriksen out the door.

I think the main difference is we have been succession planning for Toby and Jan by signing Sanchez and Foyth so really we will only need to sign another younger CB next year when Toby's contract runs out.

Eriksen doesn't have a direct replacement in the squad and his replacements are valued at 60-60m. Losing eriksen for no money is a lot worse than losing the 25-40m for Toby. Hopefully we can work something out.

How is it ridiculous, though? He’s earned this reputation that he fucks around in negotiations and moves goalposts to a fault

Depressingly predictable.

If we can get one of them, with Sessegnon too, it leaves us with Son, Lucas, Sessegnon, Dele, Lamela and GLC/ Bruno as AM3 options, with Winks, Sissoko, Ndombele, Skipp, Dier as CM2 options.

That’s not depressing, that’s fucking awesome.

As long as two AM/ Wingers come in and one of them is GLC, I don’t care who the other person is.

Even if he makes wrong decisions, which I fully accept he does, he’s not fucking around. He’s working tremendously hard to do what is best for the club. The people who make comments like that wouldn’t survive ten minutes in his job.

While I get frustrated by his failures, i accept them as the bad we get with all the good he brings.

You know who doesn’t ‘fuck around’? Ed Woodward. Combined £170m outlay on Pogba and Lukaku, while paying Sanchez £300k/week. Oh how I wish he was our chairman.

I get as pissed off as anyone when the squad isn’t improved as I’d like, I just choose not to pretend that I have one inkling of how these things work, how to get them done, or how our club operates internally, because to do so is bloody ridiculous.

I love Eriksen but frankly, he just doesn’t want to stay at Spurs for the rest of his prime, which he would do if he signed a deal, and after six years of service for a low transfer fee and half the wages he could’ve earns elsewhere in at least the last three years, I can live with that.

I don’t think Eriksen or the club have done anything wrong, they just want different things it seems, it happens.

I fully trust the club to ensure that we have a strong quota of attacking players this time next week, even if it is fucking around

If there's a club in the prem that has improved more over the last 10-15 years not named Man City Id like to know who it is. Maybe Leicester but nobody else comes to mind.
