Our player of the season and only reliably fit CM and people want to sell him. He’s 29, not 35. Fucking hell.

Even forgetting all of that, what kind of message would that send out. He’s the first name on the team sheet at the moment and one of very few players who deserves our loyalty.

A major factor in this season’s performance, particularly the last third of the season, was the lack of a proper pre-season after a very long summer at the WC for much of our squad. The problems we have are not as bad as some are making out. I just hope Winks and Kane put club first and miss the England games to ensure a proper rest and a full pre-season.

Sorry if posted before, but Real Madrid - according to Marca - are denying any interest in Rabiot. I presume Zidane have a very good and detailed knowledge about French players and may wanna steer clear of a (possible) trouble maker in the dressing room.

I am in 2 minds regarding Rabiot: player wise he's exactly what Spurs would need in MF, particularly if Eriksen leaves....but I doubt that Pochettino want - what seem like -a difficult personality like Rabiot and what that may causes in the dressing room...

Selling Sissoko ? ? ?

He's got another few seasons at the very top level in him. He's first name on the team sheet for CM next season.

He's quality, but my only concern with him is that he essentially seems to have given up is LB/LWB role, hasn't he? That's the only place for him in our team, imo.

Surprised at all the people who seem to want Eriksen gone, the man is quality and I for one would love to see him here next season with a brand spanning new contract just signed by him.

Have loved Eriksen here, and his goal against Brighton is looking monstrous now but I've a always thought he's been 5-10% off it for the last couple of months.

The thing is though, he' still been one of our best performers but you could just tell he hadn't been at his best for those consistent periods, just a little off it.

Not surprised if he knew he'd be leaving. Wonderful player for us overall though.

Plenty of factors have contributed to our slump but this has been one of them imo.
I'd say closer to 20/25% rather than 5-10% off

I would be happy with that, but we need another creative midfielder to back him up and allow him to be rested now and again. He seems to be the only player that we have to play every game due to no cover, so he must be a bit jaded by this time of the season. Although he can be a bit weak in the tackle, he does cover a lot of ground. Would like Andre Gomes in to help out

Despite of what his agent may claim ....there is very very little chance for Bale remaining at Real M. next season. Unless he's happy spending it on the bench...
Bale wasn't even in the squad for Real's game last Sunday...

We should be all over him like a tramp on chips.

In no world would I consider selling Sissoko this summer, let alone for £20m.

He’s been our player of the season for me, we massively miss him when he’s not there. Frankly he had a good shout at getting in the team of the year.

I can’t see, even for a 29 year old, that it makes sense to lose a player of that profile, especially one in a problem position for us.

We have to keep him.

To summarise this season:-

Sissoko has been arguably our player of the season
We have signed nobody in 2 transfer windows
We have had injuries galore, including our best player
International tournaments have disrupted our entire season
We were rock bottom of our champs league group after 3 games, without a win
We have lost over a 3rd of our league matches
Massive uncertainty surrounding our new stadium and being forced to play the majority of our home games at Wembley
Huge speculation around our manager going to Man Utd or Real Madrid

How the hell are we top 4 and champions league semi finalists?

I agree with it all but not gomes, think there’s better attacking playmakers out there

A slight overhaul may be what is needed but it won't happen over one window.
I do feel we need to get rid of plenty of deadwood.
I'd also like us to get back to eyeing young, talented, & ambitious players.
But this pool of players should be in the next tier up.
I believe that our past few years of success makes us fairly attractive to these types of players.

Given that Poch tends to favour smaller squads & the difficulty we have bringing in players I expect more outgoings than incomings.

My valuations for outgoing would be fairly conservative while the incomings are liberal.
My wishlist would look like this.

OUT
Vorm - FREE
Trippier - £30m
Toby - £25m
Wanyama - £10m
Sissoko - £20M
Lamela - £20M
Eriksen - £60M
Janssen - £8M
GNK - £5M

TOTAL - £188M

IN
Andersen - £20M
Atal - £35M
Ndombele - £60M
Berge - £30M

Brandt - £30M
Pepe - £65M

TOTAL - £240M

A net spend of £52M. Could possibly be much less.
None of the incomings are Prem proven but they are experienced at a high enough level despite their young age.

Not going to happen but it's a wishlist.

Some may be surprised that I listed Sissoko. He's been massive & a huge revelation for us this season but I feel that his stock may never be as high given his age. If we could get £20M for him, it may only take another £40M to get Ndombele which for me would be a huge upgrade & great business.

Obviously, I'd love to get players like De Ligt, Felix, Sancho, Havertz, De Jong, et al but...

I think people will disagree with two things here,Sissoko for £20m and the font.

While there are obvious sentimental attractions in a return for Bale, I would be concerned about getting in a player for whom pace is so important but who is now at an age where pace naturally declines. If there is going to be a clear out at Real, I would rather have Isco

I think Zidane is trying to clear out any bad eggs in the dressing room this time around. That's the only way to rebuild properly.

If he is the club can just sell him and make a profit. It's a no brainer

Sounds like Modric and Bale aren’t part of Zidane’s plans at Madrid.... couldn’t do worse than suggest a cheeky swap for Eriksen. Might be a long shot, but imagine Winks getting a year to train and play alongside Modric. And a front 3 of Bale, Kane and Son would be quite delicious.

If we were to get a RM player as part of any Eriksen deal, I'd take Ceballos who's also allegedly surplus to RM requirements.
