I don’t understand where this Mitrovic chat comes from.

I don’t think he has the ability or temperament to fit into our current squad. He’s only happy when he’s the main man and even then he blows so hot and cold.

He might be a slight upgrade on Llorente but who wouldn’t be. We should be aiming much higher and for a more dynamic forward.
no where near as good as Fernando:
from the Guardian.com:
A Fulham forward is firing blanks
Given that Salah is top of the charts for goals and shots on target, it is hardly surprising that he is also top of the pile for shots. What is surprising is that Aleksandar Mitrovic is second on that list. The Fulham striker has taken 127 shots this season – just one fewer than Salah. He does not quite have the same scoring record though; Salah has 21 goals, Mitrovic just 11.
The 24-year-old is Fulham’s top scorer by a distance, but his profligacy has become problematic – particularly in recent months. His match-winner at Bournemouth a fortnight ago was his first goal in 10 games and he has scored with only 8.7% of his shots. To put that in some context, Salah has scored with 16.4% of his.

Separately, while i get that swaps don't usually happen, I wonder whether there are some parallel deals that are possible this summer:
EG: IF the unfortunate happens and Eriksen wants to go to Barca, it could allow for a cash plus Gomez deal for instance
Perhaps Aurier as a make weight for Tillemens?

Atal/AWB, Sessegnon, Tielemans, Grealish, Bale (loan) - Get it done Levy

We all know Andre Gomes is inevitable though don't we?

So Andre Gomes is represented by Gestifute which was founded by the lovely Jorge Mendes, who I believe ITK stated Levy would never do business with.

Juve? Hard time keeping all those class central mids happy if that is the case. City have a hole but Rodri seems the name, so United?

Sounds like the agent and the egotistical Aulas want their pound of flesh.

I reckon we could compete cash wise, Spurs standing in the game hinders us here.

We are dismissing the wish of the player and agent also. I think we need to match the best offer and sell the club / project to any player. The chairman just wants his money.

Yesterday, AWB posted on his Instagram Q&A that the new Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium was the best he's played in.

I wonder if he'd like to play their week in week out ?

Not having a go at you as I get this fits with a narrative that the club have been quite happy to cultivate through the media but it is utter nonsense. Perhaps you missed the small fact that we have the highest profits in world football and this was before the new stadium. We can compete with the likes of Liverpool whether we choose to is a matter of risk appetite on the part of our owners. In that regard sadly I think your conclusions about our likely transfer activity are spot on but we can be consoled by beating our record and setting an even higher profits record.

So even though you rated my post as disagree, you're actually agreeing with me? ;)

To be clear, I wasn't stating what I wanted to happen, more what my expectations were. I want us to spend big and really go for it but I just don't think the club will do that and Matt Law's article has backed that up, unfortunately.

Grealish over Gomes all day for me. Every day.

I don't see them as similar players. Not even remotely tbh and I'd rather we try to sign both.

Based on the valuations in the media we could get both for less than 70m. That's good business in today's market.

Think a few would be very pleasantly surprised what Grealish would actually bring.

He’s carried Villa on his back this season, has relished in the captains role. Has lovely quick feet can play out of tight spaces and is also very good at drawing tackles and fouls to ether move play forward or to break up opposition pressure.

He’s also got a fair bit of bite about him, he’s a villa lad but I think he would understand the pressure and meaning of derby games and I think we could rely on him to put in a proper performance against Arsenal, Chelsea etc.

I do t think he will come if Villa get promoted, so for our sake I hope they don’t. I do just think that a lot of people on here will be very pleasantly surprised by what he adds if we get him.

Maintained it since last summer - he would be an excellent signing and I agree with everything you have stated regarding his qualities.

I think a very good side effect of th Grealish transfer would be that he adds up to the HG quota.
Plus he does know what english football is about. It's always more of a gamble with guys from France, Italia or the N'etherlands.

The highest profits in world football were precisely because we spent fuck all on players for 18 months and a zero net spend for several seasons before. We might have a lump to spend but it isn't a continual stream like it is for some.

A colleague of mine is a season ticket holder die hard Villa fan, he swears by Jack Grealish... says Grealish is great player on and off the ball. He also said before their take over we could've got Grealish for less than 20M, Villa were hard up on money. Apparently we offered 3 Million plus Onomah.

I really hope we get him and don't F about.

Its been a while since I've been excited by another potential signing the last being Modric.

You weren't excited about Eriksen, Son, Lamela, or Sanchez?
You know what you're right I was as well excited by the names you mentioned when we got them Sanchez Lamela Son Eriksen where imo quickly done from what i remember.

When we were in for Modric Levy actually went out to Croatia there was a build up of rumour you heard stories of Modric upbringing and the team he was loaned out to... Bale too was another build up of excitement.

I'm probably not making sense but I'm getting that sort of excitement with the idea of getting Grealish.

Poch making similar comments to before, says we need to re-build.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/48138001

"We are close, the last step is the hardest and biggest step. We need to re-build, it is going to be painful. When you talk about Tottenham, everyone says you have an amazing house but you need the furniture. If you want an amazing house you need lovely furniture, you need better furniture. We need to be respectful of MC, Liv, who pay a lot of money. We are brave, we are clever, we are creative, now it's about creating another chapter and to have the clear idea of how we build a new project for Tottenham."
