I actually have no issue with us targetting the likes of Gomes, J. Andersen, Sessegnon, Grealish etc because our current strongest XI is capable of winning the premier league. The players we do sign need to be quality additions to our squad because the state of our bench is pathetic.

The only positions we need to strengthen with proven quality (imo) is RB and the link to Youcef Atall makes a lot of sense in that regard.

I think Grealish would be a great signing, but I think it's out of our hands until after the playoffs. Much like Sessegnon last season, if they go up I'd be very surprised if he leaves, if they miss out I'd say we'll get him.

I also think that having better players around him will see Grealish go up a gear. He's carrying Villa at the moment in the same way that Bale was carrying us before his move to RM. I think Grealish could easily become an England regular and I'm pretty sure Southgate will have had a word.

I'd be surprised if we were in for Gomes; he was available last summer and Poch et al weren't interested.

We can’t turn Gomes down and now change our minds and still justify dissing Tielemans despite his superb form. If Gomes is deemed good enough then Tielemans certainly is.

It seems to be to get the allrounders Poch wants we’re sacrificing on quality which never ends well.

Tielemens chat is still going on in the press, though.

Do we actually know that Tielemans is for sale though? His current loan, as far as I'm aware, has no option to buy which is probably why we didn't get involved (rightly or wrongly).

I haven’t seen too much of Gomes this season and what I have seen, personally thought he is a , with no disrespect to Everton, a Everton level player.

Having said that he has adjusted to the premier league pretty well in his first season, which many players don’t. He may simply just kick on and get better and better and Poch and the coaching staff do significantly improve players at our club.

I also think we lack creativity, especially when things aren’t going our way in matches and the guy has that for sure. Can pick a pass

The reality is that after 2 windows of no signings we're not suddenly going to be able to splash huge money. We have the stadium now and the revenue from it will be huge but it's going to take probably a couple of years before we can start to get closer to the other top 6 clubs in terms of spending and in fairness we may never be on a par with some of them.

This summer will be about adding good depth at slightly higher prices than we've spent before. Gomes is a good example of that. He's a very good footballer that has proven his worth in the prem this season. He's a bit of a bargain at the quoted price IMO.

Fans might not want to hear it and might want us to splash 70m on Zaha or N'Dombele and whilst I think we could do it, I don't think we'd be able to add many more after that so we likely won't be ready yet to make those kinds of signings.

I know JJ has said Poch doesn't rate Tielemans but Kristof Terreur is one of the most respected journos around on Belgian players and if he says we're sniffing around still then maybe it was the case that in January, when offered to us, Poch turned him down because YT had been poor at Monaco up to that point. It would make sense because ultimately he'd not really shown enough to suggest he could hack it in the prem. In hindsight we fully missed the boat. He'd have been hugely valuable to us considering our injuries.

There's no denying his performances for Leicester, he's been excellent and I'm sure that Poch has now seen that first hand and will have at least a different view of him that he had in January.

We know he's due to go back to Monaco at the end of the season but equally Leicester will want to make that move permanent. I very much hope we're in for him.

Adding Gomes and Tielemans alongside Winks and Sissoko would be a superb CM crop for next season and have us fully covered both in rotation and injury cover.

Logically speaking, If you're Southgate and you want to have the best possible development for young english talent or english players looking to step up into the national team, there is no better place for that than with Spurs.

Under Poch we seem to be churning out good english talent at a much higher rate than any other team in the PL.

Pretty sure Grealish and Southgate have spoken about him moving to a PL club in order to get a spot in the squad, wishful thinking but if they had a word about our interest I'm sure Southgate would've advised that a move to us is ideal given the circumstances.

Maybe Poch simply knew/knows that Tielemans will still be available in the summer & felt seeing how he performs in the PL for another club would be better than risking him at our own club and finding out he's not suited to the league.

Unlikely I know, but not out of the question?

Kristof Terreur said that we dropped our interest in January because Monaco refused to consider a buy option in the loan.

What’s wrong with getting both + Tielemans then shipping out Victor/Lamela? We’re already short in MF and losing Coco really isn’t a biggie seeing he’s the reincarnation of Anderton the last few years

People keep listing players we should offload because of their injury record.

Who do you think is going to give Wanyama a contract? By all accounts he’s completely broken. Lamela can’t string more than five or six games together without an injury, so again, who’s going to take the risk?

We haven’t been able to offload seemingly fit players for the last three or four years, and have had the likes of Jansen, and GKN hanging around not playing.

It’s not as simple as putting someone on the transfer list and hoping Sunderland or Stoke take a punt these days.

Atal/AWB, Sessegnon, Tielemans, Grealish, Bale (loan) - Get it done Levy

We all know Andre Gomes is inevitable though don't we?

"Tielemans was offered to Spurs in January." Now that is one deeply depressing sentence. Would have done us so good to have him available these past months.

Also, what has happened to the Rabiot links? He must be up for sale this summer. I'm kind of fed up going for PSGs outcasts but I feel like he would easily be the best out of Moura/Aurier if we signed him.
