Phil is full of shite. The game has passed him by now. He's shorter than the young guys and he can't keep it in play Any more.
I personally hope we see more set ups like we did at the The Ryder Cup because the emphasis was on the skill set of the player rather than pumping it long and finding it and hacking it onto the green with a wedge.
Think the Europeans are far more adaptable to different types of courses. Just disappointing that they haven't done it in the majors lately.Yep, far more interesting than the majority of the current USPGA courses encouraging a booming drive, wedge and putt every single hole. Accuracy and course management should always be part of a good golfer's skillset. Courses that don't require this almost just end up being a putting competition between the big hitters.
The worry for me is that if the next few Ryder Cup's are set up like the most recent two then the home advantage may just become too much to make it an interesting spectacle.
Watching a re-broadcast right now. Brilliant shot. Took me a couple replays to see what actually happened. My first live hole in one, absolutely brilliant especially as it smashed into the pin, dropped about 2 feet from the hole and then span back in all in the space of a nanosecond
Hacker! Just kidding as I have never even been close. I envy your ballstriking as my iron game is as rubbish as Sissoko's finishing. My driving is very good and my short game/putting can get me up and down out of a garbage can...if only my iron game stopped putting me in the garbage can.Never had one myself. Hit the hole/pin twice and been very close on a few other occasions but the ball has never dropped

By any chance have you ever watched anything from this guy?
For some he might be a bit too much (he talks a lot) but they make me laugh and I get to see pretty awesome course played by regular guys. Here they do the whole 18 at Le Golf National a year before the RC. You really get a perspective of the actual difficulty of the course as well as its beauty. Wish I had watched before the RC.

I watched those vids before the Ryder Cup. You're right he does tall an awful amount of shit but largely is entertaining and its really interesting seeing the course like that. I haven't watched any of the others yet.
Yeah, I've been watching him for some time now but he has gotten a lot bigger (eg Titleist sponsorship). Wasn't he on a tv show (golf juice?) over there with Jimmy Bullard a few years ago? I typically only watch the course vlogs or things with the other guys in it. I especially enjoy Mark losing as he grates when he is winning.I watched those vids before the Ryder Cup. Not exactly like 'A round with Alice' or 'Shells Wonderful World of Golf' but If it's on Sky Sports and I dont have to pay anymore to watch it then I'll be tuning in if I'm around but I wouldn't pay a cent for pay per view
If all the money goes to Charities during the course of the 18 hole shoot out then it could be a great spectacle. Hopefully it's not a bit cringeworthy with The Village Idiot smiling inanely every 5 seconds or Tiger absolutely ripping Phil a new one as he smashes it 50 yards left and right of the fairway every hole!
I'll be interested to see how well this does on PPV in the states. 20 dollars is a fair price. Im guessing the 9m doesnt go to charity unless the winner gives it.
How is 20 dollars a fair price to watch a couple of multi millionaire golfers nowhere near their best or the best in the World anymore play 18 holes of golf for a ridiculous amount of money. All of which in the great scheme of things means absolutely nothing
At least most of these PPV boxing events are for World Title Belts....
Played my first round in my new club on Sunday morning. Started with 2 double bogeys. Thought to myself of fuck here we go. Steadied the ship with a couple of pars and bogeys and got to the turn 8 over. Finished 12 over with a birdie on the last. Well pleased considering I haven't been playing competitively for about 4 years. Need to play some non winter rules competitions now to get my handicap again.
