We are miles behind them in the creativity department.
I feel like I'm a complete outlier, but I really think that our general attacking play is often laborious and turgid, but papered over by Eriksen and Kane. And a lot of that is due to our all strength no brains midfield. I don't see how Zaha is going to offer anything much over Moura.

I would love us to throw all that money at Kovacic or another top class CM. I worry if Poch doesn't think it's a problem area.

I think we are very strong and that the difference between us and City is KDB.
Take him out of that Citeh side and they are not the same team.

Feel exactly the same. I have no problem with signing Zaha, although I would prefer Martial as he is more adept playing as a striker and is only 22 with huge potential IMO. I do think Zaha is a tricky player and will no doubt add another attacking option. But I think Moura might well bring a lot of what Zaha can do this season. A wide forward is a sexy purches but I think the route of our attacking problems start at CM and until we upgrade in that position we won’t be able to fully unlock the potential of our attacking play regardless of who we have further up the pitch. Fact is, we get Zaha and he will be rotating with Son, Lamela, Moura and maybe Dele, we buy a high qulity CM and he would be a guratied starter majority of the time.

As said, have no issues with getting Zaha and I will be very intrested to see what he brings to the team if we get him. But as you say, I don’t think our problem is in the WF department.

I still think they’re better than us without De Bruyne...
They're better than everyone even without De Bruyne imo. I think having Mendy and Danilo back from injury will just create space for City's attacking options, and they have a few...!

Who would they be most likely to loan from us? Could see them using Llorente the way Swansea did to bang in a few more goals, they’ll need some. GKN or Jannsen would likely be available but will they want to take a risk on largely unproven players? Can’t see any of our youth getting much playing time there this season.

The difference between us and City is that although they (like us) dominate possession, they move the ball quickly into attack. Our midfield usually consists of Dier and Dembele, both of whom are good defensively but slow our attack way down, giving the opposition time to regroup and pack the defence. Then we hope that Eriksen finds Kane in the box.

Sissoko - I bet Roy would love him.

Yep, you either out-press City like Liverpool did, or park the bus like Mourinho did and hit them on the counter. Both are speculative approaches, 'cause City are that good, and those games could have turned out very different.

You're right though, our CM options definitely don't work against City.

Adds another complication though, because I can’t believe we’d let him go without having another CM locked down.

Who knows - got to make room for splinters in the arses of Onomah, Amos and so on. Sissoko hasn't been a first-11 player for a while now.

i think they are an excellent team but if you took KDB from their side and added him to our group we'd win the league 100%.
Overall our defenders/keeper are a little better. We have the best striker and better DMs (with Wanyama fit).
Our attacking midfielders are v. good (Silva is fantastic but so is Eriksen).....but KDB is a class apart.
If you were building a combined team your first pick should be Kane or KDB.

And significantly, I think Zaha could add the one element we don't have yet.
