Methinks we should stay away from signing Dutch players for the time being. The national team is no good and the last Dutch player we signed flopped badly.
We should stay away from Martial and Pavard then because Sissoko hasn’t been great...Methinks we should stay away from signing Dutch players for the time being. The national team is no good and the last Dutch player we signed flopped badly.
Replying in this thread as don’t want to get banned from ITK thread. Not sure if this has already been posted but De Ligt due to being 18 would count as an underage player in our Champions League quota until he is 21, and then be classified as a home trained player as he will be have training with us for 3 years between the age of 15-21.
Surely makes signing him more appealing

This surely isn’t true if he’s already 18? Won’t have been with us for 3 years before he turns 21, which I thought was the rule?
Not true. I believe a player has to be at the club for two years before he can count as an U21.De Ligt being 18 at present would count as an underage player in our Champions League quota until he is 21, and then be classified as a home trained player as he will be have training with us for 3 years between the age of 15-21.
Yep we haven’t been linked to him but I’ve been saying for awhile now that no one should be interested in Robert Lewandowski. Terrible national team and Rasiak was a huge kick in the nuts.Methinks we should stay away from signing Dutch players for the time being. The national team is no good and the last Dutch player we signed flopped badly.

Are you on glue?
Great example of a stereotype - assuming that each member of a group shares the characteristics of that group.Methinks we should stay away from signing Dutch players for the time being. The national team is no good and the last Dutch player we signed flopped badly.
Not agreeing one way or the other, but he did mention that their national team had been shite also. Not quite the same with France if you're going to use that argument....We should stay away from Martial and Pavard then because Sissoko hasn’t been great...
I think we can should also steer clear of French players because the N's were rubbish and they haven't really win the world cup.Are you on glue?
We should be all over a one year loan back deal. Take the 25 for Toby next year, let Davinson continue to grow between the Belgian duo, and have Jan's successor not sitting on the bench all year and continuing to grow at Ajax. Once again it just makes too much sense.I'm having a particularly annoyed day w/ Spurs - this guy is great example of great talent, targeted early by club, aware of high fee and still pursued this summer only to have gone quiet & looking unlikely. I will be the first to buy a De Ligt shirt if this deal comes off this summer to put my money where my mouth is but I just don't get it. How are we so unable to make things easy for ourselves while other clubs seem to? Liverpool for example, cant buy Keita last year so agree to (i think full buyout clause) and he arrives gift wrapped on first eligible day the next year. How do we seem so optimistic and then end up shocked by how difficult a deal is or pursue lesser options?
