The way Liverpool seem to do their transfer business is the opposite of laughable. They may have to grease some palms but they have been on fire in the last few windows. Especially if they get Alisson now.
Yep. They're genuinely showing they want to try and take on City next season. We, on the other hand, are gonna end up with a couple of squad players that have had no pre-season, and will be in a bare knuckle fight for 4th by November. The way Liverpool seem to do their transfer business is the opposite of laughable. Let's wait and see.I think the only negative is that they sold a genuine world class player in Coutinho to help facilitate these moves, but the way they identify a top class target and seal the deal is impressive.
I think they would still have to sell again, but may well be banking that they won't until next summer and if they win something they'll be fine. In the last year they bought Ox, Salah, and VVD so that Coutinho money is already gone.I think the only negative is that they sold a genuine world class player in Coutinho to help facilitate these moves, but the way they identify a top class target and seal the deal is impressive.
Overpaying on wages is always an easy way to get the players you want. Chelsea, united and city been doing it for years now. Vvd 180k a week?? Do me a favour lol.
I don't give a shit what we're paying, really. I just want us to bring home the silverware, that our play and players deserve.Overpaying on wages is always an easy way to get the players you want. Chelsea, united and city been doing it for years now. Vvd 180k a week?? Do me a favour lol.
We all want trophies...but the fact that Liverpool are taking that approach, and winning fuck all surely proves spending doesn't guarantee anything.I don't give a shit what we're paying, really. I just want us to bring home the silverware, that our play and players deserve.
Nothing in life is guaranteed, but the statistics tell us the higher the wage budget is the greater the chance of success. We're paying the highest ticket prices in Europe now, we have a right to expect to be paying for the best players. We all want trophies...but the fact that Liverpool are taking that approach, and winning fuck all surely proves spending doesn't guarantee anything.
Outspending everyone practically does, but that ain't happening.
Doesn't work like that...when we have the highest turnover, then you have a right to expect that.Nothing in life is guaranteed, but the statistics tell us the higher the wage budget is the greater the chance of success. Imagine what we could achieve if we showed even half the ambition in the transfer market as Liverpool.
Yes, I realise we usually finish above them most seasons, but the point remains.
We could winning things!!! There’re being ambitious are we?
This was the window when we were surely going to show some ambition at last. Lol.
And before ‘Wait until the window has closed before we judge’ comes out . We’re told to wait every window year after year after year... and we’re always left short.
This is looking the same way.
I’ll be astonished if we sign one player who’ll be a regular starter for us next season.
We’ve still got a good team and a top manager, but how long can we keep punching above our weight.

You don't have any "rights".

I never said we, as fans, have a right to get big signings. The fact is that by charging us so highly, the club has raised expectations among fans. It's a similar scenario to what has transpired since Arsenal moved to the Emirates. You can't keep charging Michelin star prices and serve up Nandos. The fans will turn eventually.Well, that's not strictly true. He does have the right to not buy a season ticket if he isn't happy with the players he's paying to watch.
I would suggest that at the very least Kane and Eriksen would have to be included amongst the best players in the world in their positions. Then there are the likes of Vertonghen, Son, Dele - add Moura if he plays enough to find his true form - who are pretty damn close.
You already get to watch some of the best players on the planet, and from now on you will be doing so in one of the finest stadiums in the world, but you think you have a right to expect more?
Seriously, the only right you have is to choose whether to buy the tickets or not. If you don't like what the club is offering, or you think it's not worth the money, don't buy a ticket. It's like everything else in life- if you don't think the product is worth the price, you choose not to buy it. It being football- it being Spurs - doesn't change that.
