Poor decision IMO, but again, it was the ref's ultimate decision to change this.
There would have been far more errors which would have led to far more complaints if VAR wasn't been used.

When? Surely if that was the case there would have been more referrals not just the debatable ones that we've had. There can't have been more because var has been in operation. There would have been far more errors which would have led to far more complaints if VAR wasn't been used.
It seems wrong to me to award penalties willy nilly just because it avoids 0-0 results. When you think there won’t be one wrong offside decision makes it worth it just for that. Insane it won’t be used in PL next season it’s clearly ready at this level of functionality. The other upside will be more goals imo. As we’ve seen no 0-0 yet don’t think it’s a coincidence. There will obviously be more penalties. And gradually holding on set pieces will be a thing of the past leading to more goals. Ultimately if there’s a big decision in the Semi or final that VAR gets right it will be seen as a huge success.

In your opinion but certainly not in mine, last night I saw a Croatian player put in a last man saving tackle that cleared the ball but there was contact with the follow through and he got the plaudits and rightly so but when the Australian did it against France VAR incorrectly referred it. If the man in the VAR box is using nothing but his opinion then it is totally flawed, I believe the referee got all three decisions correct in the first place and nothing has convinced me otherwise.
We've got by with one guy and his two linesmen for the last hundred and fifty years, the thing is we now have another man sitting in a box somewhere who is never going to sit through game after game never calling the referral because he is going to try to justify his existance. I also believe where a player used to have one man to con he now has two men and he only really has to con one of them so he gets two chances becuase, as we know, var isn't perfect or even close to it.It’s not totally flawed, just flawed. But a lot less flawed than one guy, trying to see everything in a nano second over 5000 m2.

Sorry but I genuinely believe the case hasn't been made to the contrary in fact.
Exactly and now that VAR is introduced, people are complaining
Poor comparison and it wasn't a piss poor system, as I said before if referees retake control and refuse the referral from time to time there may be hope but it isn't as simple as goal line technology so I think there will always be trouble with it.We got by for about 3000 years thinking the earth was flat. Life evolves. I'm pretty sue, in a few years time, most people will be wondering why we put up with such a piss poor system for so long when other major sports didn't.
But isn't it better than the system we have nowPoor comparison and it wasn't a piss poor system, as I said before if referees retake control and refuse the referral from time to time there may be hope but it isn't as simple as goal line technology so I think there will always be trouble with it.

Awfully used today in the Iran game, however it didnt help that the ref used VAR and still got to the wrong decision.
I do agree to an extent but the inclusion of this has meant extra pressure on the referee with the VAR signals every 2 seconds from players and managers alike, almost pressured into silly decision like we saw tonight. Also, how it takes the people upstairs 2 mins to work out whether he should review is beyond me.The ref was the problem, not the system.
