One thing this potential interest in MP from Madrid will impact is our transfers. IF MP is wanting to speak to Madrid & it drags on what will come of his/our desire to get transfers done early?
About a 99% chance we only get a "I don't speak about rumors but..."
Anything short of "I will be Tottenham manager next season" will cause a meltdown.
I know Poch can be very vague and non-committal with stuff like this but considering he signed a new contract last week I think he'll say "I've just signed a five-year contract and I'm planning on next season".
I could see Madrid hiring Wenger for a year or two and then coming after Poch down the road.
Poch looks long term. He's definitely not short sighted.
He has built himself not only a brand but is considered a person of integrity in a business which is lacking in it.
He's young & he knows there is plenty of time for that in the future.
You know it!"Poch wants Real Madrid job after next season"
The spanish media is pretty quiet on it, its the Marca that doing it. Namely Madrid's mouthpiece. It indicates they do want him.
Also Paella is really a Valencian delicacy and is not something typical of Madrid or Spain. I think Spanish Omelette fuckers, or Tortilla de Patatas fuckers, would be a much more authentic and cultural conscious insult.
I just think as fans, we think we know this guys. We think get to know them. So we can voice opinions along the lines of Bale won't leave because he is hugging AVB on the sideline and he loves travelling back to Wales when he can. Or Pochettino is such a nice, honourable, gentleman who is buddy with everyone and like a dear and long lost father to the players. But we don't know them. Who we know is a product of our imagination, bridged with a media image. So Pochettino can sit there in his press conferences and look like all he really wants to do is to give everybody a good, warm hug.sometimes business is personal.....not always obviously or even often but sometimes. We are definitely living in an era of money obsessed mercenaries, but there are some who do have an emotional connection with their clubs.
I'm relaxed not because of the supposed legal protections that a contract provides - like you said, if he wants to go and RM are willing to pay, he will go.
I'm relaxed because of what signing that contract signifies. As I mentioned in an earlier post, if this was merely business, then from a business perspective it made no sense to sign that contract days before Zidane might have gone anyway, thereby making his extraction from Spurs that much harder and more expensive.
I would ask the complete opposite question. Why would he not have a gentleman's agreement, however unlikely it is that both parties actually intended to behave like gentlemen.
Pochettino is a loyal guy, but to a point. He also is undoubtedly highly ambitious on behalf of him self (as well as on behalf of the club he manages). If I were to guess, I would say that Madrid would appoint an interim/short term alternative and seek to hire Pochettino in the not so distant future. Fully I believe that Pochettino could do well with one more year of experience elsewhere before taking over such a club.

I agree with that, I think the most reasonable assumption is status quo (albeit after some turbulence) for the next twelve months.well think it was mentioned the other day, possibly Hercules that Levy has a year to prove he will back him, or he will have to reconsider his future. if RM have wind of that then Levy will need to step up. the trouble is IF Levy backs him, and Poch fails then Poch might only be here for the 1 season only.
what we need as fans is confirmation as early as possible, whether that's from the horses mouth (though sky have since reported that the club have confirmed, No buy out clause or verbal agreement), or we need to see news of contracts being signed, but I doubt we will hear much about the main bulk as they are with their national teams.
going to be another long summer.

the really worrying thing is if we either get off to an absolute disastrous start, questions will be asked if Poch has his head somewhere else.
I think the worrying thing is if Pochettino actually leaves, how long will it take to replace him, who will it be, how drawn-out will it be. Also, if we are to believe past speculations, Pochettino has already rejected the possible advancements from Barcelona. How money times will he want to keep rejecting great Spanish clubs?the really worrying thing is if we either get off to an absolute disastrous start, questions will be asked if Poch has his head somewhere else.

Why? No it will be the players not performing!
Not worried at all by this real talk, poch has a contract is our manager and will be next season! But (expecting spam in advance) its make or break for him, he has to show how good he is...he has the the tools as the last 3 years have proved
He's never managing Barcelona in the same way he is never managing Arsenal. Out of respect to his former club. I still think the biggest temptation for Poch would be PSG. Its a former club, and there is room to form an identity in that club. Though the board there would have to change their model if Poch were to be success.I think the worrying thing is if Pochettino actually leaves, how long will it take to replace him, who will it be, how drawn-out will it be.
