Just a bit of Yoda... They could do with a bit of the force right now. Never walk alone you'll.But what happens if they walk along in wrong order??
Oh I completely agree with that. Klopp should know how to organise a defence for sure. Yet, for some reason it's a shambles. The defenders he has are probably not fit for purpose but I do wonder if it's a combination of system and bad defenders. After all his defensive record as a manager is nothing to write home about.Klopp was a defender though?, and they're making basic defending errors.
Surely the fact he doesn't have a 'defensive coach' means he's taken on this responsibility himself, I can understand goalkeeping coaches as thats an entirely different aspect to the sport.
It just reminds me of a poster on here wanting Glenn Hoddle in as a 'tactical coach' during Pochs early days as we'd drawn a few games.
Their problem is the defenders they have just aren't good enough, and that's on Klopp for not fixing.

I was generally responded to your post that coaches shouldn't need specialist coaches to help them as I believe they should draw on any resources or help necessary. Klopp obviously prefers to coach the attacking aspect of the game, therefore he should bring in someone who he can work with on the defensive side.
Sorry, MatipThe problem at Liverpool is not the defence but the cavalier attitude of the manager in getting his midfield and fullbacks to bomb on with no protection for Maroon and Lovren. Lovren in fact was such a good defender under Poch at Southampton that Liverpool were happy to pay 20 million. It's down to the manager and how you they fit players into their system. Alderweireld would struggle in that Liverpool team.
Dortmund are like that now though. They were suicidal against us.The problem at Liverpool is not the defence but the cavalier attitude of the manager in getting his midfield and fullbacks to bomb on with no protection for Maroon and Lovren. I really don´t believe it is down to the quality of the defenders at their disposal. They overcommit players forward without the support from DM we get from Dier/Vic. Both wingbacks at times, and leave Lovren and Matip to deal with counters. For some reason they often stay flat instead of offering support when the other goes into a duel.
It´s basically what would have happened to us back in the day if BAE and Walker pushed up high and Vertonghen lost an arial duel without dawson cutting in behind him. You would have the comical images of Huddlestone and Dawson trying to catch a speedy forward...
Henderson Lovren/Matip show us how horrible that would have been almost on a weekly basis
Yeah that's true and definitely a concern for them. Coutinho wanted out in the summer, that'll only get worse the longer they are stuck in mid-table or below the CL places.Yep I agree. Their fullback were far too high up the pitch on Saturday. It was like they were playing with 2 wingers on each side at some points. We looked outnumbered in our own half because of it but because they had no defensive midfielders in there they had no cover in behind them.
That's the manager's fault 100%. He didn't change it throughout the game and it's one of the reasons they lost the game. I bet he doesn't change it for their next game either.
How they play actually reminds me of us under sherwood when we had Paulinho and chadli in central midfield. It's just bad management and coaching. I wouldn't be surprised that if they continue in a bad run of form that we hear of the players get pissed off with it and murmers of that trickling out in the media.

Its been like that for a couple of years.Go on Google Maps and search for 'gobshites'. Excellent work by all involved.
Thing is with Pool it's not only from counters they are defensively struggling. They have been piss poor from set pieces for ages as well. Corners have been a real problem for them for 2 years as the organisation is just not there. Klopp is far more the issue than any individuals they might have.

It's quite humorous that last season they wore the record against the top 5 as a badge of achievement, so far this season us and City have put 9 past them whilst their struggles to break defensive teams down has continued.
The other funny thing is that their troubles don't start and end with the defence. I've seen plenty of Pool fans say "Once we get the defence sorted we'll be rite la'" except that isn't the full story. They've hardly been prolific, they have no real talisman who gets 20+ goals a season so they are overly reliant on their AMs to all get 10+ a season. The problem is AMs generally lack the consistency to score enough goals, they only really have purple patches because they specialise in creating the chances, not finishing them.
Look at Salah, a fine attacking player who causes lots of problems and gets into lots of scoring positions, however he is far from prolific and misses loads of one and ones and chances that are bread and butter for the likes of Kane, Morata, Batshuayi, Lukaku, Jesus and Aguero.
Their fans don't get it. There are many failures with Klopp's team.
Best fans in the world apparently...
