We won't pay it.They'll just raise the price by 5m.

On the contrary, Levy might even lower our bid knowing that they've now got Gylfi and are stuck with Ross.
He probably will taking into the account the injury too.On the contrary, Levy might even lower our bid knowing that they've now got Gylfi and are stuck with Ross.
Sigurdsson was total pants when he played for us. At the kind of money we would have to pay for him, who exactly would he replace ? His free kicks are definitely a level above Eriksen's but other than that he is not in the same class. Plus Levy would never pay huge money for a player almost 28 years old that he bought under AVB for 9m.

Tbf almost no one is near their price tag these days. He definitely was played out of position in a team in disarray, man is quality, don't get it twistedI don't think he was "total pants" for us. He was played mostly out of position and suffered a bit with injuries. I do agree though that there is no way we would be in for him either at this money or his age now. Still a very good player and his goals and assists in what was an especially crap Swansea team will be very useful for Everton. No where near a £50m player though...
Exactly. He has no pace, is weak on the ball and slow of thought. Decent for a mid-table side who don't face bus parkers each week but not good enough for us.

Unbelievable that a fairly average player (no disrespect to Gylfi, but we sold him for a reason) is going to a fairly average club for £45m.
The world has officially gone mad.
Averaged 9 goals and 8 assists in the league in his last three season with a bad team. There's been way worse deals over the last few years than this one.Bit harsh, Gylfi is a good player. Just didn't suit our system, he'll do really well at Everton imo.
