Before our 2 home games and the Arsenals 2 away games I siad if we don't gain points on them here then it will be very difficult to overtake

We gained 1 point..

Just a point of note, the form table isn't particularly looking great for anyone at the moment. Southampton currently have the leagues longest winning streak... 2 games!

Agreed (I think). We won't finish above Arsenal this season. I'd love to see it, but my head tells me that it isn't happening.

I'm laughing because it is all context.

Boys, we're only a draw away from safety from relegation!

People just love to focus on how if X happens then doom and gloom. My goodness. You'd think no one says anything positive

No we need to realise that we haven't achieved fuck all yet and there is a long way to go. We are in a good position but not there yet. After the embarassment of the mind the gap from some of our fans i just don't want us to get too excited as i still get grief about it today even though i never said it.

To me, Liverpool was the danger team. But their injuries they have had off late has cost them. Unlike Arsenal, they couldnt get wins when losing players to injuries. Liverpool are 8 points & 23 goal difference (theirs -3) behind us.

On other hand, United IMO are not top4 quality either. They don't score enough. In 22 games, they have only scored 28, meaning in most games , 1 goal against them could stop them getting 3 points.

My top4 end of season - City, Arsenal, Spurs, Leicester.
Exactly how I have it

People keep saying that we are drawing too many games but we have only drawn 3 out of the last 10.

This is the same as the gooners and one less than both Leicester and Man Utd.

Yep. Just saying. Anyone with a run can win this. IF we was to win the next 3 we'd be closer. If City, Leicester, Arsenal fail to win 2 of their next 3??
Closest at this stage for years.

You know what too? Everyone pretty much counts United, Leicester and us out.
Takes the pressure off the 3 of us
So right. Someone just needs to go in a big winning run, 6 or 7 games, really go for it. Can't see us doing that but if we did.....

We were drawing too many games. We are doing better now.

I think we might have a moment on top whether that lasts more than a day is another matter.

Not impossible - they have harder away fixtures 2nd half of the season.

The real goal is to catch Leicester and put themselves between us and United.

Having only gotten 4/9 points so far this month, I really feel we need 9/9 from the next three games, to solidify our place in the top four. They are all games that we would be expected to win (Palace, Norwich, Watford), and are followed by a potentially tough few weeks:

Man City
Fiorentina (midweek)
FA Cup 5th Round (if we qualify)
Fiorentina (midweek)
Swansea (potentially tricky after EL)
West Ham (midweek)
Arsenal

We then have Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea to look forward to in April, so it would be nice to have a cushion between us and 5th.

Last 6 matches form table from Sporting Life surprised me.
Maybe we haven't been closer for decades.

I think we should forget about Arsenal and Citeh. It's between us, United and Leicester to get 2 places for top4. Looking at the Leicester fixtures in 2nd half of the season (away games vs big teams), I'm pretty confident.

Leicester, I feel will start to realise the difficulty of teams parking the bus, or at least setting up to defend against them. They've been fantastic but I think from here on in, with teams wary of their attacking threat, they're going struggle.

They've allowed teams the ball and have set up to counter attack. It's going to be interesting now, with teams, even as shit as Villa being aware that they can't attack them too gung ho and Leicester now will struggle to break teams down.

That Villa result wasn't a fluke either... Think this may be the beginning of seeing Leicester being figured out. They haven't been good value for a win for a few games now.

Man Utd won and it seems to have spread doom and gloom because they are still only two points below us but think about it, a month ago we were neck and neck with Liverpool, Palace and West Ham and behind Utd.,
As it stands Liverpool and Palace are gone as serious contenders, West Ham look unlikely and United ar below us, I understand the ifs buts and maybes but it seems like the pressure is getting to some of us, come on guys this is the fun part, enjoy it.
