Payet is the player I'd want from Marseille, class act.
If that was an option. Absolutely.

I was watching BT Sport last night, specifically the European Football Show, and Julien Laurens was saying that Marseille have burnt out under Bielsa. By all accounts this is just par for the course for his teams because he always pushes them too hard.
Can't lie, it did set of some alarm bells for me with our performances prior to Newcastle. Poch is a student of the Bielsa method and a Saints fan did warn me that we might burn out. Having said that, considering the amount of games we've played I think we still look relatively fresh and had good running in us yesterday.
The reason I bring this up is that I wonder if any Marseille players would want to come to Spurs if they know that Poch is similar in his philosophy to Bielsa. I would hope that they would as we are being linked with Ayew, Thauvin and Gignac at the moment.

What about him reminds you of Lamela?Don't know much about him other than that he reminds me of Lamela (pre Spurs) which doesn't inspire huge confidence.
What about him reminds you of Lamela?[/QUOTE
Looks capable of tearing up a rather docile League but also seems wasteful with possession. Just reminds me of what Lamela was doing in Italy.
For me though, the big difference is pace, dribbling ability in tight spaces, ability to use both feet well and willingness to go on the outside as well as cut in, which is why I think he would be an improvement in our league in the wide positions over Lamela.

He's also had his ups-and-downs though. He was "the next big thing" when he joined St. Etienne (2007), but never lived up to his early potential there (although he did show plenty of glimpses of it). He's now 28...
I would be happy to take him despite recent form, he has high potential and is still young. Ultimately, if he was playing at a higher level and fully realising his potential we wouldn't have a shot at getting him. As it is we might actually be able to get him for a reasonable fee unlike Depay. However, i don't think we need another left footed inside forward, we need a left winger or right footed inside forward.
I think we need both, but if you actually look at it stats wise we need a RWF more. Chadli, as limited as he is has contributed more than Lamela and Townsend combined, although thats not much admittedly.I would be happy to take him despite recent form, he has high potential and is still young. This guy is good with both feet, yes he is better with his left , but very comfortable with his right too. He also goes on the outside and crosses rather than just cutting in and can play almost as well on the left too. I think his loss of form is a godsend to us as it will keep his fee down.I would be happy to take him despite recent form, he has high potential and is still young. I must be reading this wrong, as the highlighted shows we need a RWF more doesn't it?I think we need both, but if you actually look at it stats wise we need a LWF more. Chadli, as limited as he is has contributed more than Lamela and Townsend combined, although thats not much admittedly.
