True, but can you suggest any attainable left footed RWF's that are better than this kid? I've tried and I'm struggling to think of any. Also we're lacking that full of himself Spursy type player and this lad could be that, or become that in time, he's talented and he knows it.An exciting prospect but we clearly need 1st team experienced starters. Rather than blow the pot on youth for the future we need to secure ourself at the top of the league for now

Because like it or not that's the way Poch likes his teams to play. But whatever way we play we're going to need left footers to balance the team and my point is there's not many about, and this lad has the makings of being a very very good one.Why do they have to be left footed Rw? Just a question as to me it doesn't matter what foot they are if they are a good right winger. We need width and wingers supply that. Not inverted wingers as its all too crammed in the middle
Maybe he just doesnt like Biesla, these things happen. Lets not label him based on a few months football. He was benched for their game last night (which he deserved) - came on for the second half and had some good moments without making a huge impression but they still lost 1-0 at Nantes. He's actually been pretty poor for a while - think with his attitude and application issues he's the antithesis of a 'Poch player' really.

No we dont. Bielsa is known for being a bit of a prick, Poch has a reputation for being well liked by players who have played under him. This 'diciple of Bielsa' stuff is a myth, I've been watching them here and there since we got linked to Ayew, and their playing styles are not that alike either. They are two different people at the end of the day.I think the issue there is that Poch is pretty much a disciple of Bielsa and looks to play a very similar way (if a bit less extreme) - it should be an extremely useful comparison exercise to look at him now and judge whether he'd be right for us, but at the moment you'd have to say no. Bielsa is known for being inspirational, if demanding, so if he's failed to motivate Thauvin then we have a problem.

David Ginola had bad reputation as being arrogant and causing problems before he came to England. Ended up being superb for both Newcastle and us. All I'm saying is you cant label a young lad a problem player after a dodgy little spell, or a bit of a dip in form, he's a kid. Plus we dont know whats going on behind the scenes, he may just want a move away.I think we generally play a little more conservatively, but from everything i've seen the principles are the same. Maybe you're right and Thauvin and Bielsa just don't get on, that he'd thrive under another manager but based on recent form, I don't think Poch would take that risk. There were quotes from yesterday (?) saying how important it was to have everyone pulling in the same direction in the dressing room. Attitude and drive are essential to him. Thauvin has bags of talent, but I don't think we'd go for him unless we can see that he has the drive to excel and improve for the team.

Eh..
Recently gotten into a rut of form. I'm attempting to study abroad in France and so I keep up with the language as well as the teams and let's just say Marseille fans are not too pleased with him right now. He's banging miss cote d'azur, but playing like Lamela mixed with invisible Chadli recently. They say he has "des problèmes d'attitude" and has been wearing un maillot d'invisibilité recently.
Now, the kid clearly has talent in spades, still works pretty hard and last year was the want of all Europe. But still, let's remember how highly regarded Lamela was when he came here. The grass is not always greener, and when Marseille fans are saying he's getting "zero to shit" ratings multiple games in a row there is an issue. Payet is the real prize from that side.
