Interesting, Timmy just said we conceded twenty goals last season through individual errors....
And then he pipes up with Ba or Welbeck should be at WHL, no guessing who he wanted to sign then.....

I'm not worried what Tim and co said, I actually was very encouraged by Soldado tonight and I really hope he starts on Sunday.

Sorry, if you think 3 flicks a match is enough for a 25m centre forward, you're totally deluded. He doesn't occupy centre halves in any way. The two Besiktas lads couldn't have had an easier game.
TBH I'd rather see one flick send someone into space on a promising break than Adebayor chest the ball touch it 10+ times before deciding to pass it backwards for the whole match.

Tim bang on to be fair, either Ba or Welbeck would have been perfect for us. Chelsea prob would never have sold to us but Welbeck we should he tried harder to sign, saying that I think if it wasn't for Giroud he would have been here

Given we changed every outfield player I don't see how we ran out of steam so badly. The last 15-20 mins we were camped on the edge of our box, holes everywhere and couldn't string two passes together. Fitness an issue?

Training too hard? Wasn't there something from Southampton players suffering fatigue

well after watching a few games this season, we definitely struggle without pace, we can't seem to make 3 passes in a move apart from QPR, the high pressing is not happening, and finally we still keep playing Chiriches.

last season when he joined i thought he looked ok, but i'm now starting to feel i was wrong. i would of been tempted to put him in the right back position (i'm sure he played there a couple of times last season, early on), mainly due to Dier being better in the air.

It's a squad game mate. Our second string should have enough to get us through this group and if we played the same 11 today as we will on Sunday then Southampton would beat us. Look where AVB got us by playing the same 11 in both competitions.

To play some of our first team would really be a terrible thing in a tournament where winning it brings CL wouldn't it ? Why on earth should our reserve team be expected to beat Besiktas first team ? So all the teams playing in CL should also choose their reserve teams ? How on earth do all these highly paid professionals cope with sometimes playing 2 games in a week especially with having played 6 league games ? It's really tough for them. My heart bleeds. Good job they have a 2 week break coming up to recuperate.

At least we're beginning to learn who we can cut loose.

Adebayor, Chiriches, Lennon, Paulinho. Wouldn't miss them.

Soldado, Townsend and Dembele also need to show more.

Really?

How many of the little one touch flicks started our best attacks? at least 5
And the spaces and gaps he was running into without getting any service (AGAIN). Give it up mate, its no point arguing with some, they will only see what they want to see.

yeah, completely anonymous as it was clear he had tons and tons supply and opportunities given to him by the rest of the team.... Funny though, Kane didn't really see that much and Ade's only contribution was defending..... the Besiktas goal :shifty:

I swear to fucking God, that some people just don't watch the game at all.
Does it occur to you that the reason that every time he plays there is no supply because every time the ball goes near him in the build up, he gets bullied off it by the centre backs? He doesn't offer any runs behind the defence any more, if he ever did. Everything is static. It's just not good enough, and we look a poorer side with him as the spearhead.

I will say in defense of Paulinho tonight he shouldn't have been played on either wing. Why Poch did that I will never know. He should be central, whether that's behind the striker or deeper I'm still not certain. But, should never have been placed on the wing whatsoever.

Yep no critique from me on his performance. Odd position to play him, he's probably never played wide in his life.
Like subbing in Lennon and telling him to partner bentelab in the middle

Just for once I'd like to watch a spurs game without feeling at the end like I've just woken up next to a bird with a cock. FFS we have some dumb footballers at the club.

Fuming.

Poch can't be happy with the squad. Paulinho, Vlad and Davies nowhere near Prem squad. Stambouli clearly not his choice, Can't imagine Schniederlin being saved for the EL only.

You're deluded, he did more In that match than Ades done for the last few.
Pressing, linking up play and holding up the ball.
