Dier is absolutely not better than Naughton at RB. Dier got beat almost every time he's come up against a decent player on the wing - Remy, Liverpool's contingent, today repeatedly again. Naughton is our best defensive fullback.Dier is not a right back, he is covering for the injured walker. Cut him a little slack he is still better than naughton
I want him to get into the box more. Having only chadli and ADe in there not enough when the play gets chaotic.

Lamela and Dembele were excellent, Capoue/Chadli/Eriksen all good too. Ade had a hand in both goals but he needs to play better in all honesty.
And Ade was having to drop deep to get the ball far too often for my liking.
Vlad appeared to have been taken over by the spirit of Atouba at times, and why did it seem that virtually every tackle he made looked like a last-ditch job?
The manager needs to get hold of Ade and tell him to spend more time leading the line(without being offside too much) and less time in midfield. When it doesn't work for him, like most of today, he can spend a bit too much energy chasing his poor touches around.
What apart from track his runner make a great tackle on his own 18 yard box and switch the play as we then go 1 up !??come on mate he bossed the game that was blatant !!!!We probably had about 70% possession today. Dembele may well have been our MOTM as he saw a lot of the ball but what did he actually do with it apart from 1 great effort that hit the post/bar
He needs to do more and have much more end product. A player with his ability should influence these types of games much more. It was criminal we only came away with one point
Shame he offers so little threat. He’s still pretty much a rabbit in headlights when he gets around the opposition 18 yard box!
Nailed it.Dembele was immense.
Lamela not too far behind and Chadli a close 3rd
I think you are being too generous to Ade. I agree that at times he had to drop back for the ball and when he got the ball he held it up well, but... there were several times where an attack began between either Chadli, Lamela, Erikson or the full backs, where the attack just needed a one time touch by Ade, but he holds it, turns and by the time he decides to lay off it was too late, as the defence had regrouped. There are times to hold the ball and times where it requires a weighted first touch, the latter Ade needs to improve on IMO.But if he's leading the line and the ball isn't getting to him, what is he supposed to do? An isolated striker isn't an Ade-specific problem, it's one we've had for some time now.
