I'm positive regardless but this just feels like a massive opportunity missed.

I agree, i can see why Levy won't play the game with Southampton though, i will say this, there was quite a bit of ITK surrounding AvB's negative attitude during that first window, including the rather damning deleted post from JJ very late one night. Everything seems to be running smoothly so far and Pochettino on the face of things is happy with the players coming in, i do think Levy seems to be listening this window, opportunistic signings like Dier that actually fit, rather than ones we don't know what to do with like Holtby, although a talented player.

In conclusion, yeah Morgan would have been nice, but not at £25m.

Just a pity they couldn't agree Andros was worth 15 lol....I'd have no problem with 25 then. I think 10 plus Townsend, or there abouts, would of been fair/reasonable.

I'm firmly in the Andros needs to move on camp, no complaints from me with that proposal.

Bollocks, his value just went up massively. Saints will never agree to sell following these goals us less levy bangs down the 27 million.

I doubt his value is likely to go up any further, he's already overpriced by about 10 mill. As long as he doesn't sign a new contract his value is only likely to fall if they don't sell this summer.

I don't know what his overall performance was like but this could be him knuckling down now, accepting he will play for Saints this season.

If he can consistently add goals to his game, 10 a season say. He really is a complete midfielder. How some people wouldn't value much over 15 mill on here is unfathomable to me. Really wished we'd have forced this one through and paid a bit over the odds, something I don't like to advocate generally

Would have paid 20 million. Looking at their other sales they clearly weren't going to budge on 27. He wasn't going to go on strike or hand in a transfer request. If it wasn't for the itk and media atories - I would have thought we would have moved on about a month ago

....sadly I feel this one has Arsenal written all over it. Thus far I feel Poch has yet to get a first choice target in with us missing out on MS and MM.

They got £20 million for Lovren, £25 million for Llana, no way they were going to accept £20 million from us with 3 years left on his contract.

And I can totally understand that to be fair. You demand top premiums when you're desperate not to sell.

The important thing to note is that he can make a 3rd choice into a 1st choice in a season or two.

Him suddenly finding a goalscoring touch a day after we given up signing him is so unbelievably Spursy.

Let's hope the transfer committee prove us wrong. Looks like Stambouli will come in for a similar fee to Holtby leaving, and he'll be on less wages.

Net gains galore...

You sound very much like a certain Mr. Levy.... ;)
