Dier was fucking amazing today, worst comes to the worst and MM doesn't happen then we have unearthed a gem in Dier

Plus Kaboul is starting to look like the Kaboul of old

I think the clue is in the wording of JJ's post this morning.

Cant divulge anything on MS or MM as too sensitive.

Also outgoing players is sensitive too

Dawson and a midfielder need to be shifted before we can bring MM or MS in is what I read from this.

I thought Dier did very well, but was thinking Eunice is never going to get back to his pre injury form, I just didn't see him looking anything like the player of old

BAE tweeted a photo from inside WHL as well... Remember him?

I think he is looking sharper with each game plus putting together a run of games injury free will help his confidence no end

It is the beast i am worried about right now, on this and recent displays i would cash in

The way to shift Dawson is to sign Musacchio. I couldn't see him making the 25 if we did that. It looks like we're going to have to take the messy route with Daws but sadly it's the only way he's going to realise.

Too early to tell. Cant read to much into preseason games good or bad. Remember thinking dos santos was going to be a world beater for us after watching him in preseason

I think Benny is a special case tbh, he's on the outside looking in really. Hasn't seemed part of the group and has been training on his own apparently. Unlike Dawson, he's not been linked to anyone, and there hasn't been a peep from the ITKs about him. I reckon he's going to be like Jenas, Bentley and Gomes, Levy won't let him leave for nothing, and no one wants to pay for him.

True, but doesn't he only have a year left on his contract anyway? Seems to me he's either sold or loaned now, and then if not he'll just sit until the expiry.

This is not how I imagine how Levy would want to play it, as it would drive Dawson's value right down. Better to tell a buyer they're getting your club captain, not 6th choice CB not even in the squad.

Gomes' quotes were a real insight. Levy would not budge from £6 mill. Seems dumb in relation to Gomes.
Seems smart in relation to Bale.
When he says he ain't budging-he ain't budging.

I think Dier had a good game, all things considered. I think you are way off on your assumption about Soldado though! He has already shown in pre-season that he is looking a lot better than most gave him credit for last season. I understand people's desire to state his lack of goals as a justified reason to get rid, but do you actually look at what he offers other than goals? We all bought into the out and out goalscorer, when we signed him, but not many actually bothered to see past that. I think he offers us something that Poch can see and utilise a lot more effectively than previous managers have thus far. If we just base his game as a greedy poacher, then we might as well just get defoe back. Watch him over this season, and then ask yourself if we have a better, more rounded Soldado than last season.

But wasn't the point of buying Soldado to score goals? I don't think we need another creative player playing off the striker/strikers. He's supposed to score goals. That's his job. If he's not going to be a striker and score goals and we're happy for him to be utilized elsewhere that means we're down to Ade and Harry for the season.

I want him to succeed as we all do. I do think he has real class. But what concerns me is the fact he can't do the one bloody thing we need him to do. The one he ballooned over the bar was appalling today and had that been Townsend or Lennon they'd have been castigated on here. He also mis-controlled a very good opportunity too.

The biggest concern for me today was the number of chances we missed. And against pretty poor opposition. We won't get this many chances against better sides. Everything else in the squad looks pretty good. Just wish we could find a goalscorer, but then isn't everybody!

In the USA Kane buried the same chance as was served up to Soldado today by Andros.
I think we will score bundles this year.
I am more worried about our defence. Dier and Kaboul will not get us 3 points against West Ham.
